Miniature IR receivers enhance RF noise suppression
Three series of miniature infrared (IR) receiver modules for IR remote control applications have been released by Vishay Intertechnology. Devices in the Vishay Semiconductors TSOP93xxx, TSOP94xxx, and TSOP98xxx series deliver improved dark-ambient and disturbed-ambient sensitivity to infrared signals, better suppression of RF noise, and excellent pulse-width accuracy.
Proximity sensor boasts 20cm range in compact package
A fully integrated proximity sensor that combines a high power vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL), a photodiode, a signal processing IC, and a 12-bit ADC in a single package has been introduced by Vishay Intertechnology. The VCNL36687S is designed to be used in smartphones, tablets, virtual reality / augmented reality (VR / AR) headsets, and other battery-operated devices.
TBMS rectifiers reduce power losses, improve efficiency
Four 100V and 120V TMBS (Trench MOS Barrier Schottky) rectifiers that provide up to 20mV lower forward voltage than previous-generation devices have been released by Vishay Intertechnology. The Vishay General Semiconductors V30100CI, V30120CI, V40100CI, and V40120CI offer current ratings of 30A and 40A in the TO-220AB package.
Demanding humidity resistance specification
A range of 225 EDLC-R ENYCAP ruggedised capacitors manufactured by Vishay/BC Components are available at RS Components. Designed for energy storage in industrial, renewable energy and automotive environments, MAL2225 polarised electrostatic double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) combine high capacity and energy density with fast charge and discharge rates.
Input buck regulators offer up to 98% efficiency
The SiC46X from Vishay is a family of wide input voltage high efficiency synchronous buck regulators with integrated high side and low side power MOSFETs now available from Rutronik UK. Its power stage is capable of supplying high continuous current at 2MHz switching frequency optimised to achieve up to 98% efficiency.
Inductor boasts frequency range up to 5MHz
The first device in its new IHSR series of high temperature commercial inductors has been released by Vishay Intertechnology. Designed for multi-phase, high current power supplies and filters in computer, industrial, and telecom applications, the Vishay Dale IHSR-4040DZ-51 offers a 50% reduction in DCR over typical power inductors and a 20% or greater profile reduction over similar ferrite products.
Mica grid resistors offer improved power capacity
A series of high power, high current mica grid resistors in the standard mill bank size has been released by Vishay Intertechnology. Offering designers a lower cost option to the standard stainless steel grid design, Vishay Milwaukee GREM resistors feature EDG technology for improvements in power capacity, weight, and watt density, while maintaining the same package size.
Thick-film power resistor cuts component costs
An AEC-Q200 qualified thick-film power resistor featuring a clip mount TO247 package for direct mounting on a heatsink has been released by Vishay Intertechnology. For automotive applications, the Vishay Sfernice LTO 150 offers industry-high power dissipation of 150 W at a +45 °C case temperature and an improved pulse handling capability.
Automotive LEDs feature Luminous Intensity to 1400mcd
Two series of surface-mount Automotive Grade power LEDs in PLCC-2 and ultra-compact MiniLED packages have been introduced by Vishay Intertechnology. Utilising the latest advanced AllnGaP technology in the smallest chip size available, the Vishay Semiconductors VLMx335xx and VLMx235xx series deliver high brightness and maximum drive current up to 50mA for automotive, industrial, and consumer applications.
Sensor demo boards cover ambient-light applications
The latest Vishay SensorXplorer kit and 10 compatible sensor demo boards for ambient-light, proximity and bio-sensing applications are available at RS Components (RS). The associated sensors, available from RS in small packs for prototyping or tape-and-reel for production, meet project needs from proof of concept to volume assembly.
