Overview of long range wireless IoT solutions
Be it razor holders reordering blades at the push of a button or refrigerated containers being monitored on their journey between continents – the IoT (Internet of Things) already connects many things; a trend that seems to be increasing by the day. Who knows how many it will eventually be? According to forecasts, between 200 million and 100 billion devices will be connected through the Internet of Things by 2020 alone. Author: Anja Schaal...
Highly-compressible TIM guarantees thermal stability up to 400°C
Distributor Rutronik has presented a highly-compressible Thermal Interface Material (TIM) from Panasonic, the Soft-PGS. Its 200µm thickness guarantees thermal stability up to 400°C with thermal conductivity up to 400W/mK. Soft-PGS is a 200µm thick graphite sheet designed for use as a thermal interface material for IGBT modules.
Car as a canvas collects for charity
The new Distribution. Art Car was unveiled by Rutronik in the Audi Center in Karlsruhe. It marks a continuation by the distributor of the successful project that combines art, electronics and motorsport, all in the name of a worthy cause. An art car is a fully functional car designed as an artwork. Rutronik’s Distribution. Art Car. 2017 follows the motto “show your FACE the truth”.
Impedance measuring system for Li-ion battery
Ahead of embedded world 2017, Rutronik has teamed up with Chemnitz University of Technology to demonstrate that impedance spectroscopy for lithium-ion batteries is not just restricted to the laboratory.
Hands-on workshops for engineers
Engineers can now get hand-son with the Renesas Synergy Platform in a series of one-day workshops, the company has announced.Workshop participants will spend a couple of hours understanding the platform, see a demonstration of how quickly they can programme at the API, as well as completing their own project in one of the focus topics. At the end of the workshop engineers will take away their own Renesas Synergy S7 Starter Kit and Synergy ‘...
EERAM memory offers unlimited endurance
With the I2C EERAM memory, Microchip presents a new low-cost, low-risk memory solution offering unlimited endurance and safe data storage at power loss. The EERAM memory is available at distributor Rutronik as of now.The new I2C EERAM memory is an easy to implement, non-volatile SRAM (NVSRAM) that offers a robust and dependable data solution thanks to compromising the two reliable memory technologies, EEPROM and SRAM, on a single chip.
Ultracapacitors boost power and energy performance
The new N60 3.0V 3400F ultracapacitors from Nesscap significantly raise the standard for power, energy and overall performance – all within the industry-standard 60mm cylindrical form factor. They are available at distributor Rutronik. Compared to Nesscap’s standard 2.7V 3000F cells, the N60 ultracapacitors deliver 42% greater power density and store 40% more energy.
Wearables, IoT on the agenda at Embedded World talks
Rutronik is hosting a Speakers’ Corner on its stand at the Embedded World 2017 exhibition in Nuremberg (March 14-16). Embedded developers can find out at talks given by Renesas and Toshiba how they can optimally integrate the new technologies from these manufacturers in their designs.
TFT LCD displays on show at embedded world 2017
The NUCLEUS development platform with TFT LCDs in different sizes from Displaytech shortens time-to-market, reduces development costs and is available at distributor Rutronik as of now.At embedded world, Rutronik (booth 3A-438) will show industrial TFT displays from 0.9-21.3” for industrial applications.
Demonstrator for thermostat applications on show at embedded world
The Microchip SMART SAM L series of ARM Cortex-M0+ based microcontrollers is the highest scoring product family in the EEMBC ULPBench, the independent low-power benchmark. At embedded world, Rutronik (booth 3A-438) will present a demonstrator for thermostat cloud applications based on a SAM L22 microcontroller.
