ADI's Multiplexers for Industrial, Instrumentation and Process Control Applications
ADI have today announced the introduction of two new multiplexers that are able to guarantee latch-up prevention in high-voltage industrial applications operating up to ±22 V. Latch-up, an undesirable high-current state that persists until the power supply is turned off, can lead to device failure.
Rail to Rail Comparators Support all Prevailing Digital Output Stages including LVDS
Analog Devices’ ADCMP60x family of rail-to-rail comparators is designed for applications that require high-speed, low power, rail-to-rail swing and high precision. The comparator family supports all prevailing digital output stages—including LVDS (low-voltage differential signaling), CML (current-mode logic) and TTL/CMOS required by applications such as medical instruments, test and measurement, RF (radio frequency) and telecommunicat...
Multilayer varistors from AVX protect antennas and RF amplifiers from transients and ESD
AntennaGuard multilayer ceramic transient voltage suppressors from AVX Corporation, a leading manufacturer of advanced passive components, target RF-antenna and RF-amplifier protection. These devices are zinc-oxide (ZnO) based, multilayer ceramic chips in 0402 and 0603 sizes and feature non-linear, bi-directional voltage-current characteristics similar to back-to-back Zener diodes and an EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) capacitor in parallel.
Innovative Silicon Inc in ESC's Disruption Zone
Innovative Silicon (ISi), the developer of Z-RAM high-density memory intellectual property (IP), announced today that it has been selected to exhibit in the Disruptive Zone in booth 3068B at next week's Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) Silicon Valley, April 3-5 at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. The new Disruption Zone showcases only 16 companies whose products are slated to change the future of the embedded industry with groundbreakin...
Innovative Silicon’s Z-RAM Technology Meets Low Voltage and Bulk Silicon Requirements of DRAM Memory Manufacturers
Innovative Silicon, Inc. (ISi), developer of the Z-RAM zero-capacitor, floating body (FB) memory technology, today announced two major breakthroughs to its Z-RAM technology. First, bit cell operating voltage has been reduced to below one volt (1V), making it the industry’s lowest-voltage FB memory bit cell and the first to be on-par with traditional DRAM voltages. Second, Z-RAM technology is now constructed on bulk silicon – without the req...
electronica 2008 will showcase the latest displays technology
Last year marked a turning point for the worldwide display market. At the end of 2007, more liquid-crystal displays (LCDs) had been sold than traditional tube TV sets. The market research institute DisplaySearch estimates that, by 2015, around 90 percent of all display elements sold will be LCDs. Forecasts such as these are very encouraging and are based on the fact that today’s flat-screen TV and computer screens, as well as the displays in mo...
Low Voltage LDO Linear Regulators from Intersil offer Lowest Dropout Voltages
Intersil have today unveiled a new series of ultra-low dropout linear regulators that delivers the industry’s lowest full-load dropout voltage. Intersil’s ISL80111, ISL80112 and ISL80113 are specified for 1A, 2A and 3A output currents, and are optimized for precision low voltage regulation.
Capacitive touch chip includes power management functions
Quantum Research Group has announced the newest member of its family of capacitive touch sensor products. The QT102, available in a SOT-23-6 package, is a unique one-channel touch on/touch off sensor chip with integral power management and safety functionality. These functions make it perfect for battery-driven applications and mains-driven products with stringent power management requirements, such as kitchen and home appliances.
SEMIKRON intelligent power module is half the size of standard 1200V IPMs
The MiniSKiiP IPM from SEMIKRON sets a new benchmark for power density in 1200V Intelligent Power Modules. At a weight of 55g and a volume of 49cm³, this module is lighter and more compact than any other IPM in this power class. The design yields optimum switching properties with regard to electromagnetic interference. The module was developed for inverter applications up to 15kW.
Driver family meets demands of next generation LEDs
A family of three flexible LED Drivers from Zetex Semiconductors provides designers with the performance needed by the next generation of high brightness LEDs. The ZXLD132X inductive DC-DC converter series drive single or multiple LEDs with currents from 700mA through to 1.5A, in buck, boost and buck/boost configurations. Housed in a tiny 3mm x 4mm DFN package, the drivers can reduce the circuit footprint of existing solutions by up to 50%.
