Hall-effect bipolar switch is optimised for pulsed power
The new A1205 from Allegro MicroSystems Europe is a general-purpose Hall-effect bipolar switch that is optimised for applications where pulsing the supply line is used to conserve power. The new device is a next-generation replacement of Allegro's popular A3134 bipolar switch but with enhanced performance in a more compact package. The A1205 is designed to switch in response to a north/south alternating magnetic field, typically from a multi-pole...
1.5A Buck and 1.5A Boost 2MHz Step-Down DC/DC Converters & LDO Controller in 4mm x 4mm QFN
Linear Technology has announced the LT3570, a 36V, 1.5A(ISW) buck and boost regulator combined with a linear controller packaged in a 4mm x 4mm QFN or TSSOP-20E. The LT3570 operates from a VIN range of 2.5V to 36V (40VMAX), making it ideal for the load dump and cold-crank conditions commonly found in automotive applications.
NEC Electronics Europe Announces New High-Speed Optocouplers
NEC Electronics Europe has announced five new high-performance optocouplers for industrial and motor control applications. The PS9301 insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) gate drive coupler with output of 0.6 amperes and the high-speed PS8302, PS9303, PS9313 and PS9317 couplers are packaged in a 6-pin shrink dual inline package (SDIP) that reduces the on-board footprint to half of a conventional 8-pin DIP.
NEC Electronics Launches Advanced PPmL Next-Generation Interface Technology for LCD Driver ICs
NEC Electronics has developed Advanced PPmL, an extension to the Point-to-Point mini-LVDS (PPmL) next-generation interface for large-screen liquid crystal display (LCD) televisions. Advanced PPmL is a new interface technology for connecting timing controller ICs with LCD driver ICs. It uses clock-embedded technology, which embeds a clock data recovery (CDR) circuit in the interface in order to separate the video data from the clock signal.
IR Introduces Testing Services for Commercial Products Used In Military, Space and Heavy Industrial Applications
International Rectifier has announced that its HiRel Business Unit has launched Testing Services to customers seeking critical electrical, reliability and qualification testing. IR’s new suite of testing services addresses the growing need for electrical and environmental testing of hermetic and non-hermetic (plastic) components required by customers in a range of high reliability market segments.
600V IGBTs Optimized for Motor Drive Applications from IR
International Rectifier has today launched a new family of 600V insulated-gate bipolar transistors optimized for motor drive applications operating below 10kHz including compressors for refrigerators and air-conditioners. IR’s latest generation Gen7 F devices employ punch-through Trench technology to deliver higher power density and the ability to optimize conduction and switching losses for a specific frequency of operation.
Standard and Custom Seifert heatsinks from Live Electronics
Schaffner UK’s Seifert heatsinks are now available from specialist electronics distributor Live Electronics. A huge range of standard components are available, but custom heatsinks can also be quickly and cost-effectively manufactured to suit individual applications.

Low-Noise GaAs HEMT for Ka Band
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has introduced a new plastic packaged GaAs HEMT (High Electron Mobility Transistor), which is suitable for low noise amplifiers in the Ka frequency Band. This device, named the MGF4963BL, operates at frequencies up to 20GHz with excellent low noise performance. The new chip is integrated into a cost-effective plastic package, as often systems are under cost constraints and so a traditional ceramic packaged part wou...
