Imec demonstrates extremely high-speed heterojunction bipolar transistors
Imec realized a fT/fMAX 245GHz/450GHz SiGe:C heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) device, a key enabler for future high-volume millimeter-wave low-power circuits to be used in automotive radar applications. These HBT devices also pave the way to silicon-based millimeter wave circuits penetrating the so-called THz gap, enabling enhanced imaging systems for security, medical and scientific applications.
Renesas Electronics Introduces Three New Intelligent Power Devices for Automotive Lighting Applications
Renesas Electronics America Inc today announced three new intelligent power devices (IPDs), the µPD166011, µPD166013 and µPD166014, for use in automotive lighting systems for turn signals and brake light applications. The new IPDs integrate into a single package, power metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (Power MOSFETs) as switching elements and control circuits for protection and self-diagnostic functions.
CamSemi moves into LED lighting with new driver ICs
CamSemi has today announced the launch of the C3120 family of LED driver ICs and its intention to become a major player in one of the fastest-growing sectors of the lighting market. The new family has been specifically designed to drive an advanced boost/flyback topology to deliver the three essential performance requirements for volume LED applications: ‘best in class’ current regulation, high efficiency and power factor correction.
Avago Technologies’ Automotive-Grade Optocouplers Selected for Use in Mazda’s New Hydrogen/Gas Powered Hybrid Vehicle
Avago Technologies today announced that Yaskawa Electric Corporation has selected two of its latest R2Coupler isolation products for use in the futuristic Mazda Premacy hydrogen/gas powered hybrid vehicle. Yaskawa, which makes the electronic motor inverter system for the Premacy, is using Avago’s ACPL-782T automotive grade isolation amplifier and ACPL-312T gate drive optocoupler in its electronic motors.
