Transphorm Releases First JEDEC-Qualified 600 Volt GaN on Silicon Power Devices
Transphorm today announced the Total GaN family of GaN on silicon transistors and diodes, establishing the world’s first JEDEC-qualified 600 V GaN device platform. This marks a significant milestone in the broad adoption of GaN-based power electronics in power supplies and adapters, PV inverters for solar panels, motor drives, as well as power conversion for electric vehicles.
Toshiba’s Latest Photocouplers are Optimised for Mid-Speed Communications with Data Rates of 20kbps ~ 100kbps
Toshiba Electronics Europe has announced two new photocouplers that are optimised for RS-232 and RS232-C communications. The TLP2301 and TLP2303 address emerging requirements for devices that fill the ‘price/performance gap’ between general-purpose transistor couplers and IC couplers operating from 1Mbps. Target applications will include factory automation and other industrial systems, appliances, smart metering and building automation.
Seeking A Test Panacea
Testing electronic circuits has been a key topic in the industry since the first transistor was developed, and today it is as relevant as ever. But how close to the ideal solution can developers get? By Thomas Wenzel, Co-Founder and Managing Director GOEPEL electronic GmbH in Jena/Germany, and Heiko Ehrenberg, President, North American operations, GOEPEL electronics LLC in Austin, TX/USA.
