Synchronous buck regulators deliver high efficiency
The microBUCK family of synchronous buck regulators from Vishay Intertechnology has been expanded with 2A to 10A devices featuring a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 60V. Combining high performance n-channel trench MOSFETs with a controller in the compact MLP55-27L package, space-saving Vishay Siliconix SiC46X devices deliver high efficiency and power density while improving long term reliability and simplifying thermal management.
Dual input prioritiser provides low backup solution
Analog Devices, which recently acquired Linear Technology, has announced the LTC4418, a dual input power prioritiser for 2.5-40V systems. To enable portability, preserve memory during brownouts, and ensure a graceful shutdown on power loss, electronic systems employ batteries and capacitors for backup power.
Direct drives provide energy savings in coil handling
At the stainless-steel service centre Vogel-Bauer in the German town of Solingen, the new coil packaging system clearly demonstrates how effectively energy can be saved today. The lion’s share of efficiency gains of the systems built by Cologne-based machine builder KBD Engineering relates to the intelligent mechanics design together with the drive technology. MLCCs meet extreme automotive operating temperatures
The operating temperature range of Vishay Intertechnology’s HOTcap K…H series of Automotive Grade, radial-leaded multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCs) has been extended to +200°C. The Vishay BCcomponents leaded MLCCs are now approved for operation over a temperature range of -55°C to +200°C for 500 hours, and they provide unlimited operation to +175°C.
New funding round boosts Reno Sub-Systems
Reno Sub-Systems (Reno), a developer of high-performance radio frequency (RF) matching networks, RF power generators and gas flow management systems for semiconductor manufacturing nhas closed its Series C funding. Samsung Venture Investment Corporation led the round.
µModule regulator suitable for imaging and RF systems
A 40VIN, 2A µModule step-down regulator in a 6.25x4mm BGA package has been announced by Analog Devices, which recently acquired Linear Technology. TheLTM8063's package size is 75% smaller than the existing equivalent product. With two 0805 size capacitors and two 0603 size resistors, the solution is only 70mm2The Silent Switcher architecture minimises EMI emissions, enabling the LTM8063 to pass the CISPR 22 class B EMC standard.
CWIEME Chicago 2017: Day 3 highlights
Exhibitors of the CWIEME Chicago show have said the expansion of EV and HEV markets worldwide is a positive development for the coil winding, electric motor and transformer manufacturing industry. Breakthrough technologies and new products were also highlighted during the show.
Magnetic position sensors feature PSI5 interface
The launch of theAS5172A/B magnetic position sensors has been announced by worldwide supplier of high performance sensor solutions, ams. The sensors featurea two-wire PSI5 interface for fast and secure transmission of their precise rotary position measurements.
Capacitors feature ultra-low ESR, high RF power
A range of Exxelia Temex NHB Series of RF & Microwave Capacitors has been released by New Yorker Electronics. The NHB Series is a complete range of MLCC based on NPO dielectric material. This material provides a very high Self-Resonant Frequency and limits the parasite Parallel Resonant Frequencies.
