SMD shunt resistors range from 0.2 to 3mΩ & 0.5 to 4mΩ
Designed as an alternative to the MSR through-hole style, the CRS family of SMD shunt resistors has been released by ARCOL Resistors. The family consists of two members, both of which offer the advantage of lower ohmic values. The CRS1575 SMD shunt resistor ranges from 0.2 to 3mΩ, while the CRS1050 SMD shunt resistor ranges from 0.5 to 4mΩ.
Services address preparation & termination challenges
Preparation and termination of Temp-Flex specialty micro-products to connectors or boards for an end-to-end solution is being offered by Molex. Temp-Flex specialty micro-ribbon cable, micro-coax, primary wires and coils meet the demands from medical device companies for smaller, more reliable high performance solutions. However, these demands have made product preparation and termination challenging, as some wires are finer than a human hair.
The industry’s most widely used selective soldering platform
Kurtz Ersa North America has installed a VERSAFLOW 3/45 selective soldering system, the industry’s most widely used in-line selective soldering platform, at Gables Engineering in Florida.
Shield can EMC protection kit enables rapid development
Enabling designers to rapidly construct PCB cans at minimal cost for development purposes, Harwin now offers its EZ-Shield Can EMC protection screening products in kit form. To form an EMC cage around sensitive ICs and electronic circuitry, the company's EZ-Shield Cans are simply pressed onto pre-positioned surface mount EZ-Shield Clips. This saves expensive, labour-intensive secondary assembly and facilitates reworking.
600W reworking station handles all soldering tasks
Designed to handle all tasks related to soldering, desoldering and the use of hot air in production processes, the 600W WXR 3 multifunctional rework station is notable for its high cost efficiency, saving significant acquisition costs compared to buying individual units.
Bias diode features low leakage current of less than 0.01µA
The VESD15A1-HD1-G4-08, aBiAs single-line ESD protection diode for portable electronics which provides a reverse avalanche breakdown voltage above 15.5V in an ultra-compact LLP1006-2L package, has been released by Vishay Intertechnology.
RFI shield cans enhance board level protection
Designed to provide protection for sensitive PCB circuitry against RFI and EMI at board level, the S02 series of low profile RFI shield cans has been released by Harwin. Depending on frequency and configuration, attenuation performance of up to 24dB can be achieved.
D-Sub connectors feature special mounting bracket
Provertha’s new D-Sub connectors are ideally suited for applications demanding small mounting heights on the PCB. The D-Sub Eurostyle connectors are available in male and female versions with 9 to 37 pins and a mounting height of only 3.6 mm. Due to the low mounting height of only 3.6 mm compared to the standard version with 7.3 mm, a typical 19-inch rack can accommodate more plug-in slots at a given front panel width for example.
Connector portfolio exhibited at electronica
FCI has announced that it will exhibit its current range of connectors and launch several recently-introduced products at electronica 2014. FCI's booth will feature product highlights from various product categories, namely board-to-board, wire-to-board, power, terminal blocks, high speed backplane, high speed I/O, storage and FFCC/FPC. Live demonstrations will also be conducted throughout the exhibition.
Selective solder machine gets nod from Teledyne PCT
Teledyne Printed Circuit Technology (PCT) has selected an ECOSELECT 1 selective soldering machine citing its superior performance soldering through-hole connector products into complex multi-layer rigid flex assemblies. Kurtz Ersa’s ECOSELECT 1 requires less than 3 m² of space, allowing it to fit into cell production environments.
