Connector and cable assemblies free up PCB space
Connector and cable assemblies from TE Connectivity which offer a footprint that is up to 50 percent smaller than current SFP+ interconnects are in stock at Mouser Electronics. The assemblies help designers increase faceplate density while freeing additional PCB space. The products’ designs have been enhanced to improve signal routing, minimise electromagnetic interference (EMI), and optimise automated manufacturing processes.
EMC protection exceeds all known shielding values
As the sole distributor, Schukat now exclusively offers EMC-shielded electronics enclosures from Streitbürger Gehäusetechnik UG (STB-GH-TEC). With their patented EMC-shielding - unique to the market - the German producer achieves maximum shielding of 99.999999% up to 105db - to date, the highest known shielding value.
SolderStar equipment is compatible with Windows 10
Businesses have been busy upgrading to benefit from the desktop improvements and security features introduced in Windows 10 last month, but does it affect current applications and hardware? Fortunately, SolderStardesigned their equipment with advancements like this in mind.
Crystal units support SoC devices for low power wireless
With six new qualified crystal units, Kyocera supports Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF51 series of multi-protocol SoC devices for ultra-low power wireless applications. The crystal units are available at distributor Rutronik as of now. Nordic’s device family is built around a 32-bit ARM® Cortex™ M0 processor core.
Low-profile clips offer cost-effective RFI shielding
Harwin has expanded its popular EZ-Boardware range with the introduction of three RFI Shield Clips, suitable for small and low profile shield cans with wall thicknesses of between 0.15 and 0.20mm. These additions include two clips of only 3.9mm length (S0941-46RandS0951-46R), allowing users to fix smaller sized cans to the PCB using this cost effective method.
Gate-drive transformers offer an insulation level of 3kV
Designed to control MOSFETs in automotive DC/DC power converters, the GDAU series of high insulation gate-drive transformers have been introduced by PREMO. The devices, which measure less than 8mm height, offer an insulation level of 3kV and a creepage distance greater than 5mm.
Ersa displays entry-level to high-end production systems
Kurtz Ersa North America has announced that it will exhibit at Supplier Expo Nogales 2015, scheduled to take place Friday 14th August 2015 in Nogales, Mexico. Company representatives will showcase the i-CON 1 soldering station, i-CON VARIO 4, ERSASCOPE 2, MOBILE SCOPE and the Smartflow 2020.
12- & 54-pin models added to antimagnetic connector range
ERNI Electronics has expanded its 0.8mm MicroStac SMT connector series, based on a patented hermaphroditic design, to include antimagnetic versions with 12 (single row) and 54 pins (dual row). The special design enables reduced logistic and inventory costs. The powerful combination of miniaturisation and innovative design makes it suitable for compact, demanding applications.
RFI shield clips simplify miniature EMC screening
Expanding its popular EZBoardware range, Harwin has announced three RFI Shield Clips suitable for small and low profile shield cans with wall thicknesses of 0.15 to 1.0mm. These additions include two clips of only 3.9mm length, allowing users to fix smaller sized cans to the PCB using this cost effective method.
Panel connectors target automation applications
The extensive range of Binder M12 connectors has been strengthened with the availability of new surface mount panel connectors. Supplied in two halves: an SMT contact carrier that is made of liquid crystal polymer and an optional nickel-plated brass body if it is required, these new connectors are suitable for re-flow soldering at 250°C for 20 to 40 seconds and are available with or without shielding.
