11mm SSO-8 gate drive optocouplers improve industrial drives
Broadcom Limited announced a new family of 5A and 3A gate drive optocoupler devices, the Avago ACNU-3430 and ACNU-3410, respectively. The devices are the first 5A and 3A gate drive optocouplers offered in the 11mm SSO-8 package for high voltage, space constrained industrial applications including 600VAC motor drives and 1kVDC solar inverters.
The pen that is dimensioning
A pen sounds much easier to transport around than a bulky old tape measure. Thanks to Mladen Barbaric and his company InstruMMents, we may soon be familiar with a pen that measures instead of our traditional tape measure. The InstruMMent 01 was created by Barbaric, an industrial designer behind Misfit Shine, and his team who were sick of tape measures and their awkwardness.
Just in time - manufacturing advice
It is suggested that 71% of senior manufacturing executives have used some form of the just-in-time manufacturing method in their processes.Just-in-time (JIT) is a well-known concept in business and it doesn’t show any signs of declining soon. But how can businesses successfully manage a system based on just-in-time? Here, Andy Owen, Managing Director of electric tug specialist MasterMover, gives some advice.
1000V MOSFET improves system efficiency and reduces cost
A 1000V MOSFET has been introduced byWolfspeedthat enables a reduction in overall system cost, while improving system efficiency and decreasing system size.
DC/DC converter is optimised for IGBT, SiC and MOSFET drives
Isolated 6W dual output DC/DC converters from Murata Power Solutions are optimised to suit the bipolar voltages required for high-side and low-side IGBT, SiC and MOSFET gate drive applications. The MGJ6 series is available in SIP, DIP and a low profile surface mount package format.
