What will the trending topics be at PCIM 2020?
Every year the power electronics industry from all over the world meets at the PCIM Europe in Nuremberg. In 2020, trade visitors of the international exhibition and conference for power electronics can, once again, look forward to highly specialised highlight topics and an interesting programme of lectures.
From 5th-7th May 2020, Nuremberg will revolve around trending power electronics and its applications. Some 500 exhibiting companies from 30 countries are expected to present a broad range of products and solutions to trade visitors - from components to intelligent systems along the entire value chain.
New trends and developments will be presented to the public for the first time at the meeting point for experts from industry and science. Trade visitors will receive a deeper insight into product innovations and enjoy a personal exchange with manufacturers - whether they come from the field of power electronic converter systems, sensors, semiconductors, passive components or power quality and energy storage.
Focus topics: E-mobility and Energy Storage
For those interested in power electronics for electric mobility, the Emobility Area is the first place to go. Here, numerous suppliers will provide information on relevant products and components from this application area. In addition, there is a special E-mobility Forum with exciting technical presentations to be discovered on all three days of the exhibition.
Further focus will be placed on the trend topic of Energy Storage. This will be included in both the lecture programme of the Industry Forum and at the application-oriented conference. As the heart of a stationary energy storage system, power electronics plays a central role in the application of power quality and energy storage.
Lecture programme on product innovations and latest research results
At a total of three forums, trade visitors can expand their own knowledge in technical presentations. In addition to the E-Mobility Forum, the Exhibitor Forum offers exclusive insights into the latest product innovations.
On the agenda of the Industry Forum are presentations and panel discussions on research and development topics such as 'EV/HEV Cost vs. Performance Trade off: A Battle on Multiple Fronts for Power Electronics' (Yole Développement), 'SiC- and GaN-Devices: The Game Changers' (Bodo's Power Systems) and 'Next Step for the Greener Tomorrow. Second Generation of SiC Power Modules' (Mitsubishi Electric Corporation). All speakers at the expert forum will be available to answer questions during a 15-minute 'Meet the Speaker' session following their presentation.
Parallel to the exhibition, the international conference will take place, in which participants can learn more about the latest developments and research results from science and industry in around 300 technical lectures and poster presentations.
