Second deployment of eSite hybrid power systems in Morocco
Flexenclosure has completed the deployment of a second set of its eSite hybrid power systems in Morocco. The eSites were manufactured at Flexenclosure’s factory in Sweden and installed at telecom sites across Morocco where they are now fully operational. The energy efficient eSite hybrid power system has been specifically designed for base station sites in areas where grid power is unreliable or unavailable.
The eSites in Morocco have been supplied in various configurations – some as diesel-battery hybrid power systems and some as solar hybrid power systems – as required by each base station location. Flexenclosure has also conducted detailed product operation and maintenance training for the mobile network operator.
“We are delighted to have extended our eSite deployments in Morocco,” said David King, CEO, Flexenclosure. “eSite’s performance and versatility are attracting an increasing number of mobile operators and tower companies and our new eSite x10 is undoubtedly the future of hybrid power.”
Flexenclosure teamed up with Telcabo in-country, with Telcabo delivering all site-related services including civil works, local logistics management, eSite installation, commissioning and maintenance as well as diesel generator refuelling and maintenance.
“In hard-to-reach off grid areas, Flexenclosure’s eSite enables us to simplify and streamline our ongoing operational responsibilities,” said César Mesquita, CEO, Telcabo Maroc. “eSite also allows us to take a green approach to delivering increased energy efficiency and lower overall site costs to our customers.”
The mobile penetration rate in Morocco stands at 133 per cent (end of 2015), one of the highest rates in the world.
