Micrel Offers New High Accuracy, Ultra-Small, Voltage Supervisor Featuring Watchdog, Manual Reset and Dual-Outputs
Micrel today announced the MIC826 +/-0.5 percent accuracy voltage supervisor, with manual reset input, watchdog timer and dual outputs in space saving 1.6mm x 1.6mm thin DFN package. The device is aimed at portable applications which require small size, high integration, and low current consumption.
The The MIC826 features a precision voltage monitor, manual reset, watchdog timer and dual outputs in a small package. This provides the designer with high integration while reducing solution size up to 70 percent compared to competing solutions, noted Brian Hedayati, marketing vice president for high-performance linear and power solutions at Micrel. The device also improves the accuracy of the power supply monitor by 1 to 2 percent versus the competition over the -40degC to +125degC temperature range. This makes it an ideal solution for portable, as well as industrial and automotive applications which require tighter accuracy over a wider temperature range.
The MIC826 offers eight reset threshold options and is intended to monitor 1.8V to 5V power supplies. The device features a +/-0.5 percent voltage threshold accuracy at room temperature and +/-1.5 percent voltage threshold accuracy over the -40degC to +125degC temperature range. The solution consumes a low 3.8µA of supply current for power supplies; lower than 3.6V and 4.8µA for solutions operating from a 5V power supply. The IC also features an industry standard reset timeout period of 140ms (min) and a watchdog time output period of 1.6s, as well as dual, act! ive-high push-pull, and active-low push-pull reset outputs in a space saving 1.6mm x 1.6mm x 0.55mm thin DFN package.
