Film capacitors for UPS, AC power supplies and general AC filtering applications from Dubilier Cornell are now being shipped by New Yorker Electronics. The 951C Round Axial Leaded and 953B Radial Leaded Box Metallised Polypropylene Film Capacitors offer strong performance for filtering in applications where high ripple currents are encountered and benign end-of-life failure mode is essential.

It has been announced by AVX, that they have released the new SpiCAT online simulation tool. Designed with users in mind, the new simulation software offers access to two separate portals, SpiMLCC and SpiTAN, which supersede SpiCap III and SpiTan IV. 

In regards to component obsolescence, Steve Hopwood, Senior Application Engineer at Knowles Precision Devices (KPD), stated: “The rate of component obsolescence has increased over the last 15 years. OCMs are discontinuing more part numbers per year for a variety of reasons, including manufacturing changes, changes in die dimensions and other technology changes.”

It has been announced that AVX is now qualified to produce and supply MIL-PRF-123 capacitors at its corporate headquarters in South Carolina. Furthermore AVX has had its M123 Series ceramic chip capacitors added to the Defense Logistics Agency’s (DLA’s) Qualified Parts List for MIL-PRF-123.

The ASC Capacitor HCO/HCG Single Phase AC Filter Capacitor is engineered for input and output filtering in UPS, Motor Drives, LC/LCL Filtering, Wind and Solar Power and other power conversion technologies.

It has been announced that Stackpole's RNV Series meets IEC 60065.14.1 standards handling up to 7kV for 50 discharges of a 1nF capacitor.
