A series of Automotive Grade AC and pulse metallised polypropylene film capacitors for hybrid and electric vehicles has been introduced by Vishay Intertechnology. With a maximum operating temperature of +125°C (observing voltage derating), Vishay BCcomponents MKP385e series devices ensure compliance with IEC 60384-17 and AEC-Q200 Revision D.

First Graphene has signed an exclusive worldwide licensing agreement with the University of Manchester to develop graphene-hybrid materials for use in supercapacitors. The licencing agreement is for patented technology for the manufacture of metal oxide decorated graphene materials, using a proprietary electrochemical process.

Panasonic Industry Europe has added a new long-life surface mount type series to its  product line of SP-Cap conductive polymer-aluminium-electrolytic capacitors. Available with a rated voltage of 2.0VDC or 2.5VDC, GY capacitors benefit from huge capacitance values (680µF up to 820µF) and a very low ESR characteristics (3mΩ max.).

Stackpole Electronics has announced the release of the CML Series MLCC capacitors. The CML offers a wide capacitance range from 0.1pF up to 100uF in voltage ratings from ten to 100V. Available in C0G dielectric for exceptional stability and accuracy and no ageing effects, X7R and X5R for broad capacitance range and higher capacitance capability, and Y5V for cost effective high capacitance solutions with the best volumetric efficiency.

Release of the new EDC and EDS series of Coin Cell style EDLC capacitors from Cornell Dubilier (CDE) has been announced by New Yorker Electronics. With quick-response and recharge times, these devices offer higher power than batteries and greater energy than typical aluminum electrolytic capacitors – without degradation over millions of charge-discharge cycles.

  Stackpole's BVM Series bracketed vertical mount wirewounds offer flameproof high temperature capability, in resistance values from 0.1Ω up to 50KΩ. The BVM is available in power ratings from 5-25W and can operate at temperatures up to 275°C.
