ADC & DAC cores enable concurrent multi-band/beam operation
Designed for integration in high performance SoC solutions, Semtech has announced availability of 64GSPS ADC and DAC preliminary cores utilising IBM’s 32nm SOI technology. The devices target the requirements of Advanced Communications Systems including the optical communications, radar and electronic warfare markets.
SAR ADCs feature flexible differential inputs
Featuring flexible differential inputs, the LTC2323-16 is a dual 16-bit simultaneous sampling, successive approximation register (SAR) ADC from Linear Technology. This device leads a family of 16-, 14- and 12-bit SAR ADCs, featuring sample rates of 5Ms/s and 2Ms/s while achieving 81dB SNR at 16-bits, 80dB SNR at 14-bits and 73dB SNR at 12-bits.
Industry’s fastest 12-bit ADC clocks in at 4GS/s
Texas Instruments introduce what they claim is the industry’s fastest 12-bit ADC. Clocking in at 4GS/s (gigasamples per second), the RF-sampling ADC12J4000 supports the JEDEC JESD204B serial interface standard for data converters up to 8Gb/s. It is suitable for use in test and measurement, wireless and defence applications, such as spectrum analysers, munitions, digital pre-distortion feedback and radar.
AFEs integrate 8 24-bit ADCs & boast 94.5 dB SINAD
Claiming industry-leading accuracy, the MCP3913 and MCP3914 are Microchip's next-generation family of energy-measurement AFEs.
Reduce component count in stereo speaker applications
Reducing the component count in a variety of stereo speaker applications, such as PCs, docking stations and wireless speakers, Diodes Incorporated have released the PAM8407 Class D audio amplifier. This audio component can drive dual 4Ω speakers at 3W per channel from a 5V supply.
imec and Holst Centre Demonstrate Low-Power ECG-Acquisition Chip at ISSCC2014
At this week’s International Solid State Circuits Conference, imec and Holst Centre, together with Olympus, demonstrated a low-power single channel implantable electrocardiography (ECG) acquisition chip with analog feature extraction, which enables precise monitoring of the signal activity in a selected frequency band
D/A converter offers value without compromise
Extending the existing nanoDAC product portfolio, the AD5683R D/A converter from ADI delivers high performance in a smaller package. The 16-bit, single-channel, nanoDAC+ boasts relative accuracy of ±2-LSB INL, a 2-ppm/°C 2.5-V reference and a space saving LFCSP package.
Signal conditioner is first to drive SAS-3 protocol
Compatible with existing 3Gbps and 6Gbps SAS link rates used in data centre applications, the DS125BR800A multi-protocol repeater has been introduced by Texas Instruments. The company has claimed that this is the industry’s first signal conditioner capable of driving the serial-attached SCSI (SAS-3) protocol.
LVDS clock fanout buffers use 60% less power
Enabling up to 60% power and heat dissipation savings, the 8P34S family of clock fanout buffers have been announced by IDT. Offering high-performance AC characteristics similar to that of 3.3V devices, the 1.8V LVDS clock fanout buffers are suited for use in complex, low-noise, high-speed clock designs found in wireless and wireline communications, advanced computing, and networking applications.
