Mixed Signal/Analog
Transition from analogue to HD over existing coax
Intersil announces the TW6872 HD-SDI video transmitter and TW6874 quad HD-SDI receiver with Dirac VC-2 mezzanine compression, an end-to-end solution enabling picture perfect, latency free video over extended cable distances. The devices are designed to conform to the SMPTE standards for SD, HD and 3G serial digital transmission.
Industry’s first 5kΩ digipot with 36V operating voltage
Microchip announces the expansion of its 36V digital potentiometer (digipot) portfolio with two new volatile, I2C devices: the MCP45HV31 and MCP45HV51 (MCP45HV31-51). These are the industry’s first digipots to offer a 5 kohm resistance with a specified operating voltage of 36V.
Replace 20 Discrete Chips with One Converter
Now engineers can mix and match 20 ADCs, 20 DACs or 20 High voltage digital I/O pins in any order using the MAX11300, the new mixed-signal PIXI technology from Maxim Integrated Products. Designers often work with application-specific devices that are neither flexible nor easy to program. The MAX11300 PIXI is the industry’s first configurable 20-channel, -10V to +10V high-voltage mixed-signal data converter.
16-bit DAC drives 10mA & 1000pF loads
A 16-channel, 16-bit voltage output DAC has been launched by Linear Technology. The DAC includes SoftSpan outputs, each of which can be independently configured for one of five selectable unipolar and bipolar output ranges up to ±10V. Each rail-to-rail DAC output is capable of sourcing or sinking 10mA with guaranteed load regulation, and is stable driving capacitive loads as large as 1000pF.
Drive piezoelectric sounders in battery-powered applications
Driving piezoelectric sounders at up to 18Vpp from a 3V power supply, Diodes Incorporated has introduced the PAM8904. Integrating a multi-mode charge pump boost converter, the piezo sounder driver is suited for a variety of battery-powered applications, including medical systems, alarm clocks and security devices.
LVDT/RVDT transmitter for industrial applications
Designed to deliver high-performance over a temperature range from -25 to +85°C, Measurement Specialties has developed a compact OEM signal conditioning transmitter. The LiM-420 operates on an 18-30V DC unipolar supply voltage and delivers a low noise 4-20mA current output signal.
Devices now offered in industrial temperature ratings
Designed for use in industrial system design in motion control and process automation applications, Diodes Inc's LM2901 quad and LM2903 dual comparators are now being offered in an extended temperature rating. In addition to the comparators, the LM2902 quad and LM2904 dual op amps are also available in an extended temperature rating.
A/D converter runs at 1.6MSPS, claims industry's fastest title
Mouser Electronics says it is the first distributor to ship the new MAX11905 Single Channel SAR Analog-to-Digital Converter from Maxim Integrated. The device is a single-channel 20-bit Successive Approximation Register (SAR) Analog to Digital Converter (ADC). At 1.6 million samples per second (MSPS) it is the industry's fastest 20-bit ADC. It is designed to provide excellent static and dynamic performance with best-in-class power consumption.
Converter supports high data rates & ultra-wide signal bandwidth
The AD9144 4-channel, 16-bit, 2.8-GSPS D/A converter, billed as the industry’s fastest quad IF D/A converter, has been launched by Analog Devices. The device supports high data rates and ultra-wide signal bandwidth enabling emerging wideband and multiband wireless applications.
Industry's highest performing 2GSPS data converter
Able to discern smaller signals in the presence of noise, clutter, blockers and interferers, the 12-bit, 2GSPS, AD9625 ADC has been introduced by Analog Devices. The manufacturer has claimed that it offers the best noise and dynamic range performance in its class for better receiver sensitivity.
