Renesas Technology Europe today announced the SH72544R SuperH Family microcontroller designed for use in automotive engine and transmission control systems. The device features high-speed operation up to 200 MHz and 2.5 Mbytes of fast, high-capacity on-chip flash memory. Sample shipments will begin during July 2008.

Renesas Technology Europe has announced the addition of a total of 36 new models (72 type names) in 12 groups featuring enhanced functions and higher package pin counts.
