RS Components to host workshop on getting started with the STM32 microcontroller
RS Components will host a free customer workshop at The Premier Inn, Old Park Lane, Trafford Centre, Manchester on 2nd December 2008. Created with the design engineer in mind, the one-day event is being held in conjunction with ST Microelectronics and Hitex. Attendees will be introduced to the STM32 microcontroller’s system architecture, including an overview of its peripheral set and ARM®’s new Cortex-M3 Macrocell.

The SH7243 is the lowest cost SuperH flash microcontroller currently available in Europe that uses the industry benchmarked SH-2A core. It has been designed specifically for the mid-range drives, and general-purpose inverter markets.
Toshiba announces ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller
Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) has announced a general-purpose ARM Cortex-M3 core-based microcontroller suitable for digital AV applications. The device is the first in a full line-up of Cortex-M3 devices that will become available during 2009 and is the first ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller from a Japanese semiconductor manufacturer. Samples will be available in December 2008 and mass production will start in March 2009.
