Innovative test solution for digital switchgear announced
TE Connectivity offers an innovative test solution for digital switchgear, including sensors. The ESSAILEC RJ45, part of the ESSAILEC test blocks range, is designed to fit electricity utilities’ requirements for safe and reliable testing. Test operations can be made without opening the switchgear panel door and without changing the wiring.
Distributor adds sensing and switching solutions
Specialist distributor JPR Electronics is now stocking an extended range of products from Comus International, a manufacturer of switches, sensors and a wide variety of custom turnkey solutions.
Range of vandal-resistant sealed switches for ATMs expanded
C&K has announced the launch of its ATP16 series of anti-vandal sealed pushbutton switches. Aimed at designers of equipment and devices used in public spaces or remote locations that are often at high risk of theft or intentional damage, the vandal-resistant switches are suitable for applications such as access controls, intercom push to talk devices, service station equipment and ticketing or automatic vending machines, among others.
Snap-action switches deliver space savings when mounted on PCBs
C&K has announced the launch its compact LCW series of sub-miniature sealed snap-acting switches. With a contact rating up to 0.1A as first release, the new products deliver a highly repeatable action, making them suitable for very high precision, detection applications, such as temperature, and pressure switching in motorised equipment, sump pumps thermostatic controls and air conditioners.
Buttons and switches addressing design needs
Touchscreens and membrane switches are useful for visual and low-profile control panels. However, some applications require designers to emphasise safety, ease of access, the switching of high voltages or current, a known configuration at power up, or robustness. For such situations, mechanical switches and buttons are often ideal, but designers need to choose carefully. Rich Miron, Applications Engineer at Digi-Key Electronics, explains.
10W reed relay suits high-speed test systems
Series 122 relays from Pickering Interfaces measure 12.5mm in height and are rated with a switching current of 0.5A at 10W. 3V and 5V coils are available. The 10W-rated reed relay is an addition to its 4mm2 product family which features devices that occupy a PCB footprint of only 4mm x 4mm, facilitating the high packing density.
Heavy-duty multi-function grip with four rollers
The launch of the HI, a heavy-duty, multi-function grip that offers a wide range and combination of proportional roller and discrete push-button switch functions, has been announced by Curtiss-Wright. The grip is suitable for use in arduous construction, material handling and agricultural in-cab applications.
Sub-miniature tact switch for home automation
Manufacturer of electromechanical switches, C&K, has announced the launch of a new sub-miniature PTS815 tact switch aimed at design engineers developing home automation and Internet of Things (IoT) electronic devices. With printed circuit board (PCB) space at a premium within consumer electronics devices, the ultra-compact C&K switch addresses the growing demand for high quality and competitively priced switch solutions for large volume m...
Sealed power toggle switches for wet environments
The new PT Series of sealed power toggle switches from C&K is now available from TTI. The multi-function PT Series has a patented single piece injection moulded panel and toggle seal designed to deliver optimum performance in harsh, dirty, dusty environments. Certification to the globally accepted UL 61058 standard means that no additional testing is required.
Vandal-resistant sealed switches for hostile environments
High-reliability switch provider, C&K, has announced the launch of its ATP19 and ATP22 series anti-vandal sealed pushbutton switches. The new high-strength, lightweight switches are IP67/IK10 rated, ensuring their suitability for operation in harsh conditions and ability to withstand potential malicious damage.
