Adhesives dispensing expertise shared at FAST Live
To help the industry better tackle the challenges of technology and manufacturing using adhesives and protective materials, Peter Swanson, Managing Director at adhesives specialist Intertronics, ran a seminar at FAST Live. Swanson offered insights into dispensing technology, process validation and the latest positive displacement and jetting technologies.
EPD Coatings Market to cross $20bn by 2025
According to a new research report by Global Market Insights, Electronic Protection Device Coatings Market size will surpass $20bn by 2025. Electronic protection device coatings are the polymers that are applied to printed circuit boards (PCB) in thin layers to electrically insulate and protect the components from environmental stresses such as moisture, chemicals, dust, and debris.
Structural adhesive supports Wisconsin Racing
Manufacturer of industrial adhesives for automotive, consumer and industrial electronics applications, is a sponsor of Wisconsin Racing at the University of Wisconsin. DELO has supplied Wisconsin Racing’s Formula Electric team with DELO MONOPOX HT2860 to bond together the magnet segments in the car’s electric motor. The adhesive is also used for final rotor assembly.
Graphene filled epoxy offers thermal conductivity
The newly introduced EP30NG from Master Bond is a two part epoxy adhesive system developed for applications that require high thermal conductivity. It contains a specialty graphene filler which contributes not only to its high compressive strength, but also to its enhanced dimensional stability.
Cleaning grease for wind turbines removes residues
Hardened residues in rolling bearings are a frequent cause of elevated bearing temperatures calling for added maintenance activities. It is in particular with a view to generator and main bearings in wind turbines that Klüber Lubrication has developed Klübersynth BZ 68-400, a matching solution for this type of application.
Electrolube launch next-gen UV cure coatings at SMTConnect
Seven next generation UV cure conformal coating products have been launched and will be on show for the first time in Europe at the SMTConnect show In Nuremberg from 7th-9th May 2019. Electrolube, the global manufacturer of electro-chemicals, developed the new UVCL range to meet the various requirements of electronics, LED and automotive manufacturers, with the additional benefit of rapidly increasing production time and offering even higher...
In-line material analysis for printed electronics manufacturers
OEM of instruments and measurement systems, HORIBA, has successfully implemented in-line, non-destructive, non-intrusive and non-contact material analysis and characterisation techniques into roll-to-roll printed electronics manufacturing to provide quality assurance and improve yield.
Adhesive to support faster curing at room temperature
Specialist in silicones, silicon-based technology and innovation, Dow, has launched DOWSIL EA-4700 CV Adhesive, a next-generation silicone solution for transportation assembly that is capable of room temperature curing at faster speeds while maintaining the performance advantages expected from silicone adhesives.
Anti-corrosion graphene technology successfully tested
Producer of specialty graphene materials, Applied Graphene Materials, has announced that its graphene technology Genable 3000 has delivered anti-corrosion performance enhancement results that has led the business to be nominated for an industry award. Genable is a metal-free additive that transforms coatings and paints enabling them to withstand corrosion in automotive, heavy industry and harsh marine environments.
3D printing side-mounting technology onto circuit boards
The additive electronics provider, Nano Dimension, has announced side mounting technology for additively manufactured printed circuit boards (PCBs). With Nano Dimension’s DragonFly Precision Additive Manufacturing System, the technology can print and solder components to the top, bottom and sides of the PCB, resulting in as much as a 50% increase in board space when compared with traditionally manufactured PCBs.
