Component Management
Advanced PCB and packaging technology innovations
At the Red Bull Ring, where high-performance racing cars usually run laps, AT&S presented current trends, challenges and solutions for PCBs and connectivity solutions at the 15th Technology Forum. The choice of venue at the Formula 1 racing circuit highlighted many parallels between the two fields, success in both depends on maximum speed, high efficiency, reliability and innovative cutting-edge technology.
Phase change materials: Innovations in thermal management
Thermal Interface Materials (TIMs) are used in electronics applications to improve the efficiency of heat transfer and reduce the operating temperature of a device. They work by improving the conduction of heat through to a heat sink, where the heat is radiated to the surrounding environment by means of convection. Demand for improved thermal management in electronic devices is ever-increasing, particularly in applications where both miniaturisat...
New UV cure conformal coatings at Productronica
Electrolube will launch six next generation UV cure conformal coating products at Productronica, held at the Messe München in Munich on 12-15th November. The innovative new UV range has been designed to meet the various requirements of electronics, LED and automotive manufacturers, with significant advantages including vastly reduced production time and even higher levels of performance.
New thermally conductive adhesives in practical packaging
Intertronics has added three products to its extensive range of thermally conductive adhesives from its partner Polytec PT. Users will benefit from convenient side-by-side cartridge packaging, which simplifies application. The adhesives have added functionality, including high thermal conductivity (2.2W/mK), very good adhesion, flexibility and high temperature resistance.
Sustainable cleaning solutions at productronica
MicroCare Europe BVBA will exhibit its range of sustainable cleaning solutions at Productronica in Munich, Germany from 12th to 15th November 2019. A highlight will be the company’s innovative Tergo family of cleaning products which boasts impressive ‘green’ credentials.
How to eliminate harmful particles in workplace facilities
Many workplace environments suffer from harmful particles in the air. Such occupational hazards account for more than one in 10 people with lung diseases not related to cancer, ranging from asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease to several airway infections.
Coating of fibre end faces for increased capacity
By investing in new technologies, LASER COMPONENTS has been able to significantly expand its range of services for the coating of fibre end faces. The company is now in a position to produce larger quantities and at the same time has created ideal conditions for processing other fibre types.
Fast curing in any shape with liquid sealants
DELO has introduced a new, silicone-free liquid sealant for the automotive, electronics, and white goods industries. Curing by light, DELO PHOTOBOND SL4165 protects from dust, air, and water. The flow-resistant, highly viscous liquid sealant can be applied in the desired height and any geometric shape.
Low-void soldering by flexible vacuum system
The demand for high-performance electronics is growing worldwide, driven by higher demand from for example the electro-mobility and LED global lighting industries. These different electronic applications require solder joints with as few voids as possible in both their structure and connection.
Laser printing tech produces waterproof e-textiles in minutes
The next generation of waterproof smart fabrics will be laser printed and made in minutes. That’s the future imagined by the researchers behind new e-textile technology. Scientists from RMIT University have developed a cost-efficient and scaleable method for rapidly fabricating textiles that are embedded with energy storage devices.
