CETECOM and Altair Semiconductor Conduct Successful LTE Testing Session
CETECOM and Altair Semiconductor, a 4G chip company developing the world’s most advanced mobile semiconductors for handheld devices, today announced the successful completion of a joint LTE test session.
The joint LTE test session took place at CETECOM’s high-end test facility in Essen, Germany. Both parties put their individual strengths and experiences in cutting edge developments together to demonstrate the rich capabilities of the new technology. Several different scenarios were setup dynamically during the live session where both SISO and MIMO tests were performed, under various channel coding scenarios. The tests were successfully conducted using Altair’s FourGee™ LTE USB ExpressCard UE, one of the industry’s first Category-3 USB datacard solutions. The ExpressCard reference design UE features Altair baseband and RF chipset – the FourGee-3100/6200, and incorporates full L1 and protocol stack from Altair.
Altair’s FourGee™ LTE USB ExpressCard UE Feature Highlights Include:
• Category 3 speeds of 100Mbps download and 50Mbps upload
• Power consumption within the USB specification power budget (<2.5W)
• ExpressCard34 form factor with a USB2.0 HS host interface
• Available in select FDD/TDD bands in the range of 700M-2700MHz
• Full-featured, IOT tested LTE L1 and protocol stack
The latest LTE test systems from Anritsu and Rohde & Schwarz were utilized for the LTE test session. CETECOM is the first independent laboratory to be equipped with such state-of-the-art test systems for the LTE technology. “I am enthusiastic to see CETECOM’s activities take off for a successful LTE business.” said Dr. Harald Ansorge, CTO of CETECOM. “The early availability of the Altair ExpressCard UE is a key enabler to our ability to provide classleading LTE services and products to our customers. Applications will be a highly important driver for the development of devices and technologies.” “Altair is one of the first chip vendors with a full-featured and mature product in the market today,” said Eran Eshed, Co-Founder and VP of Marketing and Business Development at Altair. “We are very pleased to be working with a world class certification and test solution provider as CETECOM, in accelerating the availability of LTE compliance programs, and eventually LTE compliant products.” CETECOM has a worldwide network of state-of-the art facilities located in Europe, North America and Asia. Its roadmap for LTE test deployment will be accompanied by its already expansive wireless service portfolio.
