It has been announced that Tieto has entered into a strategic partnership with Swedish telecom operator Telia leveraging the new mobile technology 5G. The companies will cooperate to develop new use cases, products and services to the ecosystem around 5G and work together with customers to accelerate the development in Sweden.

SoftBank has chosen Keysight Technologies' 5G network emulation solutions to characterise and validate new 5G New Radio (NR) mobile devices intended to operate on the Japanese mobile operator's 5G network. These solutions are based on the UXM 5G platform for radio frequency (RF) performance validation of new 5G mobile devices in over-the-air (OTA) test environments.

Keysight Technologies has extended its collaboration with China Information and Communication Technology Group (CICT) with a new purchasing framework agreement, strengthening the two companies' commitment to develop 5G technology.The agreement was signed at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.

Sivers IMA has signed a joint development agreement with Ampleon to develop the next generation millimetrewave (mmWave) chips for 5G base stations. Both companies will jointly develop the product and Ampleon will be funding parts of the Sivers IMA development by approximately 3.5m Swedish Kroner (341,000 Euro).

Both companies will jointly develop the product and Ampleon will be funding parts of the Sivers IMA development by approximately MSEK 3,5.

Demonstration of a 3GPP 5G New Radio (NR) standalone (SA) mode IP data transfer has been successfully achieved using Keysight Technologies’ 5G network emulation solutions and a mobile smartphone form-factor test device consisting of a 5G modem and antenna modules from Qualcomm Technologies.

In Rome, the first European 5G NR video call has been completed on the TIM network in the millimetre wave (mmWave) frequency band, in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated and Ericsson. This is an important milestone in conjunction with the unveiling of the first Innovation Hub dedicated to 5G.

Specialist in radio base station and wireless test and performance evaluations, GTT (Gefle Testteknik), a part of Bluetest, has announced the launch of its new 5G NR DL Toolkit with BER/BLER functionality in a global deployment with an undisclosed telecom manufacturer. 

Successful 5G Standalone (SA) connection testing has been completed using Anritsu’s Radio Communication Test Station MT8000A and a mobile smartphone form-factor test device from Qualcomm Technologies, including the company’s 5G modem and antenna modules with integrated RF transceiver, RF front-end and antenna elements.
