5G RAN framework to speed 5G development for NEPs
In a move that accelerates the development path to 5G for network equipment providers, Altran announced that its pre-integrated 5G RAN framework will now be used by Shenzhen Fu Hua Ke (FHK), a subsidiary of Foxconn Industry Internet (FII), which develops the 5G wireless and edge computing technologies with an emphasis on the applications in IIoT systems both inside and outside Foxconn.
A look at 5G mmWave-focused absorber technologies
To enable the large increase in wireless data transfer needed for the new 5G wireless standard, spectrum in the millimeter wave range will be needed. There is simply not enough available spectrum in the sub 6GHz range. The millimeter wave range is largely unregulated with wide chunks of available bandwidth making it ideal for data transfer applications. By Paul Dixon, Staff Scientist, Laird Technologies.
e-book explains 5G NR technology
Is 5G simply another generation of mobile communications technologies? Or is it something revolutionary? Test and measurement specialist Rohde & Schwarz has compiled an in-depth book describing the main aspects of 5G NR technology to provide the answer.
Enhancing the global sales structure for 5G solutions
NEC Corporation and Samsung Electronics has announced enhancements to their sales systems for accelerating the provision of 5G solutions to global markets. In October 2018, the companies began collaborating to provide 5G solutions that combine IT solutions with leadership in 5G technology. With these new enhancements, both companies will jointly establish a global sales system to strengthen their activities for proposing 5G solutions on a global ...
Redefining best practices for implementing 5G timing solutions
Among the technological hurdles the industry faces while preparing for 5G, one of the most challenging is providing a network timing source that is accurate, stable and reliable enough to do more work, faster, over tighter channels than was possible with prior 4G networks that already had tight timing requirements. By Markus Lutz, CTO and Founder, SiTime Corporation
The 5G question
The 5G network is currently a hotly debated issue worldwide. Parts of the population see the new mobile communication generation as a danger for their health. The fact that the 5G network must also be set up with the previously valid security limits for wireless communication, and that future-proof 5G networks can only be set up with small cells in order to cover the needs of future mobile communication, to date does not influence these discussio...
5G beamforming transceiver is more accurate, less expensive
5G technology will roll out soon, and researchers all over the world are working hard on the tools that will usher in the next generation of mobile communications. Much of the press coverage about 5G technology discusses how it offers faster speeds with virtually no latency. But the communications equipment used for older-generation communications won't work with 5G. By Kayla Matthews
e-Book supplies detailed 5G insights
An eBook that offers an in-depth look at 5G connectivity and its implications for mobile broadband and a variety of new technologies and applications has been published by distributor Mouser Electronics in collaboration with Qorvo.
