Multi-vendor 5G SA chip interoperability testing completed
UNISOC completed multi-vendor 5G standalone (SA) chip interoperability testing and ZUC verification testing on October 15th, with major system vendors. The tests confirm that UNISOC 5G chips are fully interoperable with system equipment vendors and support the ZUC encryption algorithm, laying the foundation for large-scale commercialisation of 5G SA terminals.
Streamlining 5G and 4G deployment with OneAdvisor-800
Viavi Solutions has announced enhancements to the VIAVI OneAdvisor-800 all-in-one tool to streamline cell site maintenance of 5G and 4G technologies. With the addition of 5G NR and 4G LTE signal analyser functionality to the OneAdvisor-800, field technicians can efficiently deploy, integrate and troubleshoot today’s multi-technology networks with a single instrument.
Requirements and trends of materials for mmWave 5G
The most revolutionary aspect of 5G network relies on the high frequency 5G technologies, i.e. mmWave 5G. At such high frequency, using low loss materials to reduce the signal loss becomes essential.
Self-driving boost with 5G deployment
In a welcome boost for Britain’s self-driving revolution, HORIBA MIRA is teaming up with Vodafone to bring 5G to its Midlands headquarters. This latest investment by HORIBA MIRA will see Vodafone deploy and build a 4G and 5G mobile private network at the company’s Nuneaton site.
Can 5G private networks boost industrial productivity?
The 5G mobile standard is being heavily marketed to consumers as enabling faster downloads, but it's industry that may have the most to gain. In part, this is due to 5G’s adaptation to the requirements of industrial digital transformation. It is about lower latency, higher reliability, the ability to provide connectivity to a much greater density of industrial sensors, localisation with higher precision down to sub-meter level indoors, and ...
iPASOLINK EX Advanced Dual promotes expansion of 5G
NEC has announced the global release of the iPASOLINK EX Advanced Dual, a 20Gbps radio for promoting the expansion of 5G. iPASOLINK EX Advanced Dual is the industry's first 20Gbps capacity solution in a single box, which lowers total cost of ownership (TCO) compared to conventional 10Gbps two box solutions. The iPASOLINK EX Advanced Dual supports extended spectrum density technology that doubles spectral efficiency in a single box.
China test centre chooses Keysight 5G solutions
Keysight Technologies’ 5G device test solutions have been selected by State Radio Monitoring Centre Testing Centre (SRTC), an independent third-party testing and calibration laboratory in China, to support both domestic and international certification of 5G mobile devices.
Adaptive radio platform combines flexibility for 5G standards
Xilinx has introduced Zynq RFSoC DFE, a breakthrough class of adaptive radio platforms designed to meet the evolving standards of 5G NR wireless applications. Zynq RFSoC DFE combines hardened Digital Front-End (DFE) blocks and adaptable logic to build high performance, low power, and cost effective 5G NR radio solutions for a broad array of use cases ranging across 5G low-, mid-, and high- band spectrum.
5G use cases: exploring 5G applications beyond telecom
One exciting aspect of 5G is its potential to transform whole industries beyond telecommunications. These industries will become huge new CSP customers. For example, 5G is expected to form the backbone of autonomous vehicles and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) applications. Guest blog written by Paul Miller
NEC, Analog Devices team up to deliver 5G O-RAN radio
NEC and Analog Devices have worked together to design a 5G Network Massive MIMO Antenna Radio Unit for Rakuten Mobile.
