Essemtec Delivers More Than 1500 Reflow Ovens

There continues to be a high demand for high-quality products. This was proven once again with Essemtec's 1500-oven-anniversary celebration in May. Due to innovations and flexible implementation of customer requirements, the Swiss manufacturer has reached a leading position in the market.

Once an SMD reflow oven was not much more than a baking oven with a conveyor belt, and soldering quality was poor. Therefore Essemtec, the Swiss manufacturer of production systems, decided to develop its own reflow oven line.

Innovation and knowledge-sharing with customers have been important factors in the success of Essemtec’s products. As an example, when RoHS was introduced, Essemtec was one of the first manufacturers to provide reflow systems capable of lead-free soldering. Because Essemtec already made its own production experiences, it could also deliver the know-how that was so desperately needed at the time.

Due to its flexibility and openness to change, Essemtec’s reflow ovens also are often used outside the electronics industry. Applications can be found almost everywhere: in the optical industry, solar technology, keyboard manufacturing and many more. The variety is systematic: Essemtec builds reflow ovens on demand, implements specific heating or curing modules, or adapts the transport system for a specific end product. Essemtec has created Essemsol, a special business unit just for such requests.

The standard reflow oven line includes four basic models that can be adapted for customer requirements. These are the RO06 batch reflow oven and the conveyor ovens RO300, RO400 and RO-VARIO. The latest and most flexible oven, RO-VARIO, offers a process width of 600 mm and can be assembled in a modular way. Customers can choose, for example, the number and type of the process chambers or the type of conveyor system.

Essemtec is a Real Turnkey Supplier, which means that it can deliver complete standalone or inline solutions along with process know-how and superior software systems. The flexible reflow ovens fit perfectly with this concept. More than 1500 different ovens have been delivered and the innovation speed has not slowed. Today, of course, the high-tech reflow ovens have nothing in common with the baking ovens from the past, not even the control: even this has been simplified.
