Engineers and scientists of DLR (German aerospace centre) in Oberpfaffenhofen are engaged in the robotics of tomorrow, in particular 'the gentle hand'. The human hand is a wonder of nature: what seems apparent to us becomes, on closer inspection or under a technical simulation, a highly complex entity. The complex boards are produced on the Essemtec SMT assembler Paraquda in a highly flexible environment.

At a ceremony that took place during the IPC APEX EXPO, at San Diego Convention Centre on 14th February, Essemtec was awarded a 2017 NPI Award in the category of Component Placement – Multifunction for its FOX2. This marks the 15th industry award that the Swiss manufacturer has received in recognition of its production systems for electronic assembly and packaging.

Essemtec  plans to exhibit at IMAPS Pasadena and will demonstrate its compact Spider jet dispenser which can utilize two dispensing valves rated at up to 150,000 dots per hour. It dispenses 3D patterns and is easily adapted to an application.

Essemtec plans to exhibit at the SMTA Guadalajara Expo & Tech Forum (5-6 Oct) and will show its FOX Compact Pick-and-Place Machine – said to be  the first machine in its class with linear motors and a mineral cast frame. It is designed to provide speed, stability and accuracy and is perfectly suited for use in small production environments.

The new SPIDER from Essemtec AG  measures just 88 cm x 109 cm but features high speed jetting with up to 150,000 dots per hour. According to the company, technically sophisticated 3D dispensing applications, a wide range of processes such as solder paste jetting and flip-chip underfill can be performed.

The new FOX by Essemtec AG is perfectly suited for use in small production environments and fits through narrow doors. It measures only 88cm x 109cm but can accept PCB’s of up to 406mm x 305mm. Components with sizes from 0201 (imperial) up to 33x80mm can be placed with a speed of up to 4500 cph (IPC9850A). 

Essemtec will participate in ACI Technologies’ Third Annual Tech Expo and will demonstrate the Paraquda G2 multifunctional center and Cubus storage system. Paraquda G2 combines three different processes within one platform - solder paste jetting, jetting of glue and SMD components placement.

Essemtec is set to launch its Fox SMD Automatic Placement System at SMT/Hybrid/Packaging in Nuremberg. With this launch, Essemtec claims a new benchmark for compact, highly flexible assembly machines.

 Essemtec will exhibit at the 2016 IPC APEX EXPO and will display technical innovations in 3D assembly and jet printing with live demonstrations.

At SMTA International, 29th to 30th September 2015 in Illinois, USA, Essemtec will exhibit the Parquda G2 multifunctional centre and Cubus storage system in Booth #335. The Parquda G2 is a 3-in-1 multifunctional centre that is claimed to be the world's first machine to combine three different processes within one platform: jetting of solder paste; jetting of glue; and placing of SMD components.

Essemtec will exhibit at booth 7.135 at SMT/HYBRID/PACKAGING, scheduled to take place 5th to 7th May 2015, in Nuremberg. Representatives will demonstrate the company's Paraquda pick & place and Scorpion dispensing systems. Other highlights will be the Cubus Large SMT storage device and the flexible and Lynx pick & place system.

Essemtec has chosen booth B28, hall 1 at the upcoming AUTOMATICON 2015 exhibition, taking place 17th to 20th March in Warsaw, as the location to highlight its Paraquda combined SMT production centre, able to jet solder paste and/or glue and mount components. One machine platform processes all types of components, from 01005 to large components or connectors.

Essemtec has announced that a leading SMT equipment manufacturer has concluded a contract with Essemtec, to supply 100 of its Cubus storage systems, for delivery in the coming 12 months. The first systems have already been delivered to Southeast Asia and to multiple sites in Europe.

TE-LOH Michael Korn has expanded its production line by purchasing Essemtec’s Paraquda placement machine. The company chose Essemtec’s machine because of its flexibility and ePlace. software interface. The programming is done via a direct, universal import of CAD data. The programming effort is reduced to a minimum due to the included, comprehensive component library.

Essemtec will exhibit in Booth #1211 at the IPC APEX EXPO, scheduled to take place 24th to 26th February 2015 at the San Diego Convention Centre, California. Company representatives will demonstrate the multi-functional SMT centre Paraquda, Cubus SMT storage device and the Lynx flexible and accurate pick-and-place system.

The Lynx, a small form factor SMT placement machine, has been introduced by Essemtec. According to the company, the machine offers the highest feeder density on the market, with 180 feeder lanes on 0.85 square metres. Bridging the gap between Essemtec’s Pantera X-plus and Paraquda SMT placers, the machine is suitable for high-mix SMT production.

The Paraquda 2, with integrated solder paste jet printer, will be displayed by Essemtec in Booth #640 at SMTA International. Paraquda combines two different production steps, solder paste jetting and SMD assembly, within one platform and meets the requirements of a modern, highly flexible production system -  changeover without downtime, component management, and the integration of jet printing of solder paste or glue.

Essemtec’s high-speed Paraquda SMD pick-and-place system and Fino semi-automatic screen printer have recently been installed at the high-end consumer audio company, AVM-TEC, based in Denmark.  The company is a small business specialising in top of the range OEM modules, DIY module based plug & play systems and Pre & Power-amp One amplifiers under the brand name Alluxity.
