Manufacturer of access chambers, Cubis Systems, will be exhibiting its AX-S Recessed cover range at Utility Week Live 2017. The exhibition is taking place at the NEC in Birmingham from 23rd-24th May, and you can find Cubis Systems at stand G40.

Visitors working in utilities, construction and for local authorities can find out how they can cover access and telecoms chambers without taking away from an attractive streetscape design by either visiting the company’s stand or attending a seminar on the topic on 23rd May, which is being delivered by Finn McCrory, Technical Manager for Cubis Systems.

AX-S Recessed covers protect telecoms chambers and can be filled with any material that matches the streetscape, so they do not stand out and disrupt the aesthetic. Many cities and town centres spend huge amounts of money on designing the pavements and streets to be aesthetically pleasing, improving the atmosphere of a city. Installing standard ductile iron, concrete or composite covers in the middle of it all can spoil the entire landscape.

"The quality of recessed covers varies greatly, so specifying the correct type is critical to their performance" said Finn McCrory, Technical Manager at Cubis Systems. "Recessed covers are legislated by EN124, the same as standard access frames and covers, but the better designed covers have added features to ensure easy manual handling and a longer lifespan in use.

"During the exhibition, we will explain how our recessed covers are tested before they are filled with material that suits the surrounding area. This means they can be filled with any material, from natural stone to asphalt, as the load bearing capacity is not dependent on the chosen filler material, but rather on the galvanised steel covers we manufacture. During my seminar, I will also be looking at how to comply with all the associated regulatory requirements around the use of recessed covers."

Cubis Systems is contributing to the streetworks conferences at the exhibition. On day one, Finn McCrory will be speaking as part of the New technologies that are helping to keep traffic moving seminar at 11.45am. McCrory will be presenting and answering questions surrounding recessed covers and how to protect telecoms chambers without impacting on the visual impact of carefully designed and costly paving.

Those interested in the latest chamber technologies can meet the Cubis Systems technical specialists at stand G40 in the streetworks village of Utility Week Live, May 23rd-24th.
