AdaCore to sponsor inaugural software engineering conference
Along with partner Altran, AdaCore will be sponsoring the inaugural High Integrity Software Conference (HIS), taking place in Bristol on the 23rd October 2014. HIS 2014, which is one day long, is a conference for sharing information about key challenges and recent developments within software engineering.
The programme is based around four main themes – Languages and Technologies, Software Security, Software Safety and Applications. Perspectives from the space, automotive, security, medical and avionics industries, and insights into safe and secure programming standards, techniques and processes will be discussed. Martyn Thomas (Vice-President at the Royal Academy of Engineering) and Harold Thimbleby (Professor of Computer Science at Swansea University) will be giving keynote presentations to lead the discussions on the day. Parallel tracks will allow attendees to select the talks that are most appropriate to their industry and interests.
“Software is becoming ever more important in the unprecedented range of systems that touch our everyday lives in many different ways. The reliability, safety and security of this software is paramount and High Integrity Software 2014 will help developers understand the necessary processes required and techniques used to deliver ultra-reliable code,” says Jamie Ayre, Marketing Director, AdaCore.
"It is very exciting for the SPARK team at Altran UK to be closely involved with the inception of this important new conference. HIS 2014 will provide a forum for engineers to share best practice in dependable software development across industrial sectors and address the key challenges facing our industry," says Stuart Matthews, SPARK product manager at Altran UK.
