Congatec will highlight its Computer-on-Modules portfolio, featuring aReady.COM configurations, at embedded world NA (booth 2223).

The aReady.COM Computer-on-Modules offer value-added software features that streamline the deployment of applications across various scenarios, establishing a new class of high-performance, off-the-shelf modules for standard form factors such as COM-HPC, COM Express, and SMARC. These functionally validated configurations enable software engineers to expedite the development process by simplifying the validation and verification of essential software building blocks.

Available for all congatec Computer-on-Modules equipped with integrated NVMe storage, the aReady.COM configurations support the 13th generation Intel Core (Raptor Lake), Intel Core Ultra, Intel Atom (Amston Lake), and AMD Ryzen 8000 processors. These pre-configured modules allow engineers to focus on application development rather than basic system setup, providing a faster and more efficient deployment process.

Farhad Sharifi, General Manager at congatec Americas, commented: “We are excited to introduce our new aReady.COM solution platforms at Embedded World NA. With aReady.COM, congatec has developed one of the most application-ready solutions available in the Computer-on-Modules market. These modules, pre-installed with validated operating systems, hypervisors, and IoT software, allow engineers to boot up and begin installing their applications straight out of the box.”

Dan Demers, Senior Director of Business Development at congatec Americas, added: “The advantage of aReady.COM Computer-on-Modules is that engineers no longer need to invest time in validating operating systems, hypervisors, or IoT software packages. This leads to significant time and cost savings in the product development cycle. In volume production, these modules reduce the bill of materials and simplify license, patch, and update management, as all installation and functional testing have already been completed.”

aReady.COM configurations

The aReady.COM modules, built on the latest Intel and AMD processors, are available in multiple configurations tailored to customer needs:

aReady.COM with OS

This configuration comes with a pre-installed operating system optimised for specific Computer-on-Modules. Engineers can select from various Linux distributions such as RT Linux and Ubuntu, as well as Bosch ctrlX OS, with dedicated OS images tailored for specific COM and carrier setups.

aReady.VT

aReady.VT offers hardware partitioning for system consolidation and task separation using Hypervisor-on-Module technology. It features pre-configured virtual machines (VMs) ready to host required OS configurations. VMs can also be deployed with operating systems and IoT software as needed, ensuring interference-free task execution.

aReady.IOT

aReady.IOT provides building blocks for IoT functionality, including data conversion, system and device monitoring, and complete white-label solutions for OEMs. This configuration allows easy integration of devices into cloud environments and the ability to run IoT applications alongside core OEM applications, either directly or within virtual machines.

Combining aReady.COM solutions for maximum flexibility

The aReady.COM platform supports the combination of all available configurations. The most advanced option integrates aReady.VT and aReady.IOT with Bosch Rexroth’s ctrlX OS, offering developers access to the ctrlX Store. The ctrlX Store provides a vast array of applications, including PLC and motion control, communication, and engineering tools, alongside IoT and cloud services such as firewalls and VPN clients.

Key target industries for ctrlX OS in the embedded computing space include automation, robotics, medical technology, energy and smart grids, and in-vehicle applications.
