5G, what is it good for?
This years CW Future of Wireless International conference, which takes place from 23rd to 24th June, will see industry experts taking a close look at 5G and asking what is it, do we need it and what is it good for. According to the latest Mobile Economy report from the GSMA, 4G is still a relatively nascent technology on a global scale, with just under 7% of total connections by the end of 2014.
Checking the pulse of the UK and international tech start-up scene
The 6th annual Discovering Start-ups competition (DS15) has been launched by CW and SETsquared. The show will be inviting emerging UK and international early-stage technology companies and digital entrepreneurs to win the chance to pitch their technology and business ideas at the finals to be held at Deloitte’s London offices on 21st October 2015.
Indoor small cell precise synchronisation to be demonstrated

Test approvals conference slated for July 15
This year’s Testing and Global Approvals Conference 2015, hosted by TRaC Global, will be held on Friday July 3 2015 at the Williams Conference Centre in Grove Oxford, home of the Williams F1 team. Nearly 200 of the UK’s leading testing and certification specialists attended last year’s debut event.
V band phased array modem enables GB-speed
Blu Wireless Technology will be demonstrating its Lightning V Band phased array prototype modem at the Small Cells Conference at the ExCel London, 9th to 11th June. The lightning module is based on its unique HYDRA baseband technology and represents the first physical manifestation in a development roadmap, which will see the technology applied to WiGig and ultimately MM Wave modems for the emerging 5G mobile standard.
