Qorvo’s QSPICE Simulator and Model Generator has been shortlisted for the Electronics Excellence Awards under the Software Product category.

At embedded world, Qorvo will be showcasing a key new model generator feature to its celebrated QSPICE circuit simulation software. This new feature provides the capability to create circuit simulation models for discrete Junction Field Effect Transistors (JFETs), Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (MOSFETs) and diodes using information commonly found in datasheets. In addition to advancing the state of the art in analog simulation technology, QSPICE allows designers to simulate complex digital circuits and algorithms. Its unique combination of modern schematic capture and fast mixed-mode simulation make it the ideal tool for solving increasingly complex hardware and software challenges for today's system designers, giving them the ability to evaluate their designs with complete confidence in the results.

Qorvo’s QSPICE is a new generation of circuit simulation software that provides power and analog designers significantly higher levels of design productivity through improved simulation speed, functionality and reliability. This software enables developers to test circuits prior to building prototypes, saving time and money while reducing environmental impact. Free to use, QSPICE offers significantly better SPICE basics, supports vast amounts of digital logic without performance penalties, and provides the speed and accuracy required for reliable power-based simulation. QSPICE is easy to use with an intuitive user interface and provides access to Qorvo's high-performance SiC models, C++/Verilog compilers, and publication-quality graphics. No other free SPICE simulator offers this functionality in such an intuitive, seamless way. The new Model Generator functionality within the tool will allow users to create models in minutes, as opposed to hours, for free.

Developers can now create models for power devices quickly and accurately, taking their work in circuit simulation to a higher level. Previously difficult and expensive, model creation is now fast, integrated, and free. All circuit simulation is based on having functional part models, and this tool enables engineers and hobbyists to do this work quickly and accurately. Mike Engelhardt, author of QSPICE, cites the new feature as the most important circuit simulation improvement since QSPICE was first released to tens of thousands of users around the globe.
