SweGaN introduces telecom executive as Senior Advisor

Nilsson is the former CEO of Ericsson and is today active in leading tech companies as an investor and board member.

Nilsson is known for his strategic leadership abilities in high-tech industries. Nilsson is currently on several boards, including CEVA. He has previously held long-term positions such as Chairman of the Board of the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration and other high-profile organisations.

SweGaN growth trajectory

Following an investment round in Q3 2022 led by global semiconductor investors and strategic partners and spurred by the significant interest in volume orders from major customers, SweGaN announced in early 2023 the construction of a new production facility in Linköping Sweden. The company’s strategy is closely aligned with the accelerated global demands for GaN-on-SiC epiwafers used in 5G telecommunications infrastructure, satellite communications and high voltage power for devices such as EVs.

Sven-Christer Nilsson has held numerous positions in Swedish and international organisations including, among others, President and CEO of the Ericsson Group, Chairman of The Swedish National Defence Materiel Administration, Chairman of Swedish ICT Research AB, and Chairman of The Public Service Broadcasting Foundation. He also served on the Board of Directors of telecom operators Sprint, and Telia AB. Mr. Nilsson is a member of The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and The Royal Swedish Academy of War Sciences.
