Transphorm acquires Fujitsu’s GaN Power Conversion business

Fumihide Esaka, Transphorm’s CEO, comments: "Integrating Transphorm's operations with Fujitsu will enable high-volume and high-performance GaN power device production at Aizu-Wakamatsu, and we will also benefit from Fujitsu's strong technological capabilities underpinned by Fujitsu Groups' years of developments in the field of GaN power device. The acquisition enables high volume production and access to an existing large captive market and adds 25-30 engineers to Transphorm’s leading GaN team. Fujitsu has also directly invested in Transphorm to become a minority equity shareholder.
