NanoKTN Member Wins Prestigious Business Award and Recognised as UK’s Fastest Growing Biotech Company
The Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network is pleased to announce that UK-based NanoSight, an active member of the NanoKTN, has been awarded the esteemed Business Innovation Award at TechWorld 2011. This comes in the same month that the Company was recognised in Deloitte’s 2011 Fast 50 Rankings as one of the fastest growing technology companies in the UK.
NanoWidespread commercial uptake of emerging technologies is vital to the wealth-creating power of the UK, and nanotechnology is leading the way in driving the future wealth of UK economy. The Business Innovation Awards recognise positive developments in nanotechnology and actively help businesses to further develop and launch commercially viable applications. NanoSight was winner in the Energy and Environment category with product benefits including lean burn catalysis, improved battery performance and nanoparticle environmental fate. Improved combustion of hydrocarbon fuels, for example, can reduce emissions and boost energy efficiency.
The award comes in the same month that NanoSight was recognised by Deloitte as the UK’s fastest growing biotech company in its 2011 Technology Fast 50 Rankings. NanoSight has made it to number one nationwide and is the fastest growing of all technology companies in the South West and Wales region in the UK. The Company has also been recognised in the Technology Fast 500 EMEA 2011 rankings, a list of the 500 fastest growing technology companies across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Since the Company was founded in 2004, NanoSight has worked closely with the NanoKTN, enabling the company to secure new business and increase its business prospects as well as providing the company with a platform to deliver information about the benefits of its technology directly to its target audience.
