NanoKTN is pleased to announce the start of the Energy Harvesting Special Interest Group Mission, which is taking a delegation of nine UK companies specialising in energy harvesting and self powered sensor systems to Germany. The EH SIG Mission, organised in partnership with the Electronics, Sensors, Photonics KTN and Materials KTN, aims to raise awareness of UK Energy Harvesting technologies and help stimulate partnerships with potential international collaborators and customers. The mission will have a primary function of attending the annual ‘Energy Harvesting and Storage Europe 2013’ conference and exhibition in Berlin.
Complimentary to the conference and exhibition, the mission delegation will also be attending and speaking at a British Embassy seminar in Berlin on the 16th April 2013. The seminar will offer an opportunity to hear presentations on research, development and commercialisation of energy harvesting products and services in real world applications.

The UK delegation comprises: The Centre for Smart Infrastructure & Construction, Clearview Traffic Group Limited, DZP Technologies, GoSense Wireless Ltd, Mustard Seed Publishing Limited, the National Physical Laboratory, Perpetuum, Ronsek Innovation, and Solar Press.

Dr Alec Reader, Director at the NanoKTN explained, “The UK has significant expertise in energy harvesting technologies, and self powered devices and systems are now being used with very positive impacts across a very wide and diverse range of industries. This mission aims to provide UK companies with an opportunity to showcase these technologies, establish valuable international contacts, and assist them in raising their profile to form commercial collaborations and sales.”

The EH SIG is accelerating the development and commercial use of products, processes and services based on Energy Harvesting technology, by bringing together communities in the Energy Harvesting supply chain from academia, materials technologies, devices, systems integration through to the user communities helping to build a vibrant and productive Energy Harvesting community in the UK.
