BVM has announced availability of the LV-676, the world's first Mini-ITX motherboard to support Intel's leading-edge Quad Core processors, putting the hardware ahead of the curve in processor-intensive applications such as high definition video and graphics based gaming. Based on the Intel Q965 Express chipset, the board also supports the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor with Intel Virtualization Technology, Intel Pentium D 900 sequence and Pentium 4 processors in the LGA775 socket. Overall system performance is optimised through Intel's Fast Memory Access technology, which optimises available bandwidth and reduces memory access latency.
The feature rich board includes wider internal data buses that support dual-channel DDR2 memory technology at 800MHz for greater platform performance and memory flexibility. The on-board graphics controller is based on the Intel GMA 3000 architecture, which delivers richer visual colour and picture clarity without the need for an additional card.

The comprehensive portfolio of on-board capabilities includes 1 PCI expansion slot and 1 mini-PCI socket, enabling a direct interface for both standard and specialist I/O cards; a watchdog timer provides system reset capability in the vent of software lock-up. On-board HD audio capability, 2 on-board Gigabit Ethernet controllers, a floppy drive interface, PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports, 2 x IEEE-1394a, 1 x RS232C and 1 x RS232/422/485 ports are provided. 3GB/s SATA interface and support for RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 enables high data security or maximum storage performance for intensive applications.
