Essemtec has kept a low profile about the new products that it will introduce at the upcoming Productronica 2009 exhibition in Munich this coming November. The company confirmed that it has booked 40 percent more floor space and will speak about a new era in electronics manufacturing technology.
Florian Schildein, the marketing manager for Essemtec, expects to surprise visitors on the opening day of the exhibition. Information about Essemtec’s plans for Productronica follows; however, the company is keeping most of the details quiet until the show opens.

Information is available about the new booth, which will be located at a more central position in hall A3 (booth 358) and will be 40 percent larger than at the last exhibition in 2007. The turnkey concept will be clearly manifested because Essemtec is one of the only manufacturers capable of providing complete manufacturing lines for small to large production from one single source: printers, dispensers, pick-and-place systems, reflow and curing ovens, handling modules, storage systems, and software for stock management and traceability.

For the first time, Essemtec will exhibit machines for the solar industry, including the world’s most accurate SP900-S screen printer. Its exceptional accuracy of 8 µm makes this machine the best choice for solar cell metallization processes. Its vision system not only recognizes the edges of the cell but also structures on the wafer. Therefore, multiple layers can be printed on top of or precisely next to each other.

Additionally, new printer models will be introduced on the show floor. A new option is available for the SP150 printer ― an automatic electronic squeegee pressure regulation. The second highlight, the new SP004 semiautomatic printer, features excellent printing accuracy and many extras such as vision system, laser pointer and a synchronous screw drive for table lift.

The design of the booth will change as well. Essemtec is going through a re-branding process that syncs with its technological news. For the first time, activities in Essemtec’s booth will be followed live on twitter (www.twitter.com/essemtec).

In spite of the above-mentioned changes, Florian Schildein promises that the popular aspects from booths at previous shows will be carried over into the new booth. An example of this is the service corner. Here, customers and users can discuss questions and suggestions directly with the product and process specialists. Also, similar to 2007, Essemtec’s booth will be the meeting point for those interested in highly flexible, highly reliable production systems for electronics.
