Blu Wireless Technology joins Telecom Infrastructure Project
System IP provider for millimetre Wave (mmWave) applications, Blu Wireless Technology, has announced it has joined the Telecom Infrastructure Project (TIP) as part of the recently established mmWave working group, tasked with advancing networking solutions that use the 60GHz frequency band and addressing challenges in the wireless backhaul domain.
TIP is the engineering focused initiative co-chaired by Facebook and Deutsche Telekom, intended to bring together expertise from pioneering technology companies that will help transform traditional telecom ecosystems by deploying new technologies and agile architectures.
Blu Wireless Technology’s involvement in TIP will help to ensure that this high-profile, innovative group has access to advanced mmWave communications technology for demanding bandwidth requirements for applications such as smart-city sensors, augmented reality, and 4K video streaming. The company has already showcased its fully functioning fixed wireless access solution at 60GHz that delivers best in class performance in a wireless mesh network configuration.
“The opportunity to participate in the TIP working group and support all its members in the drive to deliver fast, cost-effective gigabits of capacity to consumers, underscores our commitment to bringing the benefits of mmWave technology to a wider audience,” said Henry Nurser, CEO at Blu Wireless Technology. “Our mission goes beyond simply delivering advanced technology to our customers, but rather providing deep domain expertise, from a technology and market perspective. Being amongst this forward-thinking, highly esteemed collection of companies gives us access to shared ideas and the opportunity to play an integral part in the future of this rapidly emerging global technology ecosystem.”
