Blu Wireless wins new UK 5G Create project

Blu Wireless, has announced that it is part of the winning bid for the new Liverpool 5G Create project from the UK's Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sports (DCMS), a £7.2 million project. Ultra fast video streamed through central Bristol

It has been announced by Blu Wireless Technology, that its 5G ready technology has been used to stream video through Bristol’s historic centre. The 5G-XHaul project demonstration, which started 1st July 2015, marks the end of a three year collaborative research study to identify 5G technologies funded by the European Commission under the framework of the 5G Public Private Partnership (5G-PPP).

Blu Wireless joins 5G Innovation Centre

As part of its SME Technology partner programme, Blu Wireless Technology has joined the University of Surrey’s 5G Innovation Centre (5GIC). Due to open its doors in September 2015, the 5GIC is the UK’s only research centre dedicated to next-gen mobile communications. V band phased array modem enables GB-speed

Blu Wireless Technology will be demonstrating its Lightning V Band phased array prototype modem at the Small Cells Conference at the ExCel London, 9th to 11th June. The lightning module is based on its unique HYDRA baseband technology and represents the first physical manifestation in a development roadmap, which will see the technology applied to WiGig and ultimately MM Wave modems for the emerging 5G mobile standard.

UVM software for mm-wave quality tested

Blu Wireless has quality tested its SystemC-based Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) software with software verification specialist TVS. Bristol-based Blu Wireless is hoping to target its mm-wave wireless technology at next-gen high speed Wi-Fi applications. The custom verification infrastructure was developed by TVS engineers in India, in collaboration with the UK team during the testing and verification process.

Gigabit modem for mm-wave communication receives validation

Blu has announced the validation of the lead implementation in 40nm CMOS of its HYDRA IP, a gigabit modem aimed at mm-wave communication, ‘WiGig’ 802.11ad and wireless Back Haul for LTE mobile networks. The HYDRA System IP provides a complete multi-Gigabit capable baseband processor with all the associated firmware for the PHY and MAC functions needed to build mm-wave gigabit wireless modem ICs.

Blu Wireless Technology to exhibit Lightning module at MWC

At MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2015, which takes place from 2nd to 5th March in Barcelona, Blu Wireless Technology will demonstrate its 60GHz Lightning module. To enable beam formed Gbit communications, the company has integrated its gigabit baseband technology HYDRA with 60GHz active phased array radio technology into the Lightning wireless gigabit modem.
