Avago Technologies Advances Its CoolPAM Power Amplifier Architecture to Further Extend Battery Life of Handsets Technical Innovations to Improve CDMA and W-CDMA Applications
Avago Technologies today announced new advancements in its innovative CoolPAM power amplifier architecture which will extend handset battery life. The company is a leading supplier of innovative semiconductor solutions for advanced communications, industrial and commercial applications. Handsets and other mobile devices leveraging the CoolPAM technology will be able to extend battery life by as much as 20%. Products based on Avago's next generation power amplifier technology will be available in early 2008.
TodaAvago's CoolPAM power amplifiers provide the kind of extended on time that end users expect even as handsets begin to incorporate demanding functions such as TV viewing. CoolPAM technology significantly reduces battery power consumption, allowing mobile handsets to run cooler without the additional design time or expense of a DC/DC converter. CoolPAM power amplifiers are already proven in handsets from leading manufacturers in Korea.
