Lantek exceeds the quality requirements of the medical sector
Building machinery, equipment and furniture for the medical, surgical and pharmaceutical sector is a true technological challenge for companies in the industry. The material has to meet strict standards for safety, quality, reliability, precision and hygiene. Most of the equipment, in one way or another, is in contact with patients and medical staff and is also, on many occasions, key to saving many lives.
5-20W open power supplies are medically approved
Designed to provide up to 20W for medical equipment applications, Powersolve announces the PMP05, PMP10, PMP15 and PMP20 series of single output power supplies. Each series is comprised of four models featuring Class II isolation, an open frame format and, importantly for medical applications, cooling by free air convection. Every model has been burn-in tested at full load.
Compact radio module is optimised for use in medical implants
Microsemi has announced the availability of the smallest radio module it has ever produced, measuring just 5.5x4.5x1.5mm. The ZL70323 is optimised for implantable medical devices such as pacemakers, cardiac defibrillators and neurostimulators. The radio module supersedes the company’s ZL70321 and complements its ZL70120 radio module used for external device controllers.
Medical PC combines outstanding hygiene & performance
ADLINK Technology has announced its medical panel PC, the MLC 4-21, equipped with 4th gen Intel Core i7/i5 processor to provide outstanding computing power and multitasking capabilities. The MLC 4-21 is completely fanless and the fully-sealed housing without grooves or joints has only flat surfaces to ensure fast, easy and effective cleaning.
Automation reduces medical patch pump costs by 20%
By automating the production and test processes, ESCATEC has reduced the manufacturing costs of a medical patch pump by 20%. The initial contract for a few thousand unit prototype run of the PCB was done using ESCATEC's SMT line is Switzerland. However, the customer then asked for additional components, such as sensors, to be added that had to be done by hand, taking several minutes per unit and adding to the production cost.
Camera sensor targets medical & industrial applications
A camera sensor for medical and industrial applications has been introduced by OmniVision Technologies. The 1/18" OV6946 CameraChip captures 400x400 pixel resolution images and video with outstanding colour fidelity in a compact 0.9x0.9mm package that consumes low power, making it a suitable camera solution for minimally-invasive, reusable endoscopy.
ESCATEC is now FDA registered for the manufacture of Medical Devices
ESCATEC Medical Sdn Bhd is now FDA registered as a Medical Device Contract Manufacturer under FDA 21 CFR Part 820 QSR (registration number 3010354240). The company has already been approved to the ISO13485 quality management standard for medical device manufacturers for a number of years.
Bi-directional flow sensors target medical applications
MEMSIC has announced the availability of its MFC2030 bi-directional flow sensor for a wide range of applications such as analytical instruments, anesthesia and other medical flow devices, process control and natural gas measurement. The company utilises its highly advanced and successful MEMS thermal accelerometer platform as the flow sensing element in this high performance flow sensor.
