The DTM165 series of medically certified 165W external power supplies has been introduced by TDK Corporation. Tested to the 3rd edition of IEC 60601-1, the products have 4,000V AC isolation from input to output and earth leakage currents of less than 300µA.

Murata has introduced two MEMS sensors that use BCG (BallistoCardioGraphic) techniques to detect and measure a patient’s heart rate without the need for any wires or connections. Scientists from Tsinghua University, Beijing, and Drexel University, Philadelphia, have developed a 3D printing method capable of producing highly uniform ‘blocks’ of embryonic stem cells.
