AVX expands automotive AntennaGuard series with 0603 multilayer varistor to provide fastest EDS response
AVX Corporation has expanded is automotive multilayer varistor (MLV) product offering to include an ultra-low capacitance 0603 device that provides sub-1nS response to ESD strikes. The AEC Q200-qualified Automotive AntennaGuard Series MLV devices deliver low insertion loss, low leakage current and unsurpassed reliability compared to diode options. These features, combined with size advantages and bi-directional protection, make the AntennaGuard...
Non-Contact Measurements in Tyre Manufacturing Using the PyroCouple Infrared Temperature Sensor
Infrared temperature sensors from the Calex PyroCouple Series are being used by a major tyre manufacturer to detect the presence of hot rubber tyre material as it passes a point on a conveyor. The tyre material is transported in two thin bands on a cooled aluminium conveyor. A Calex PyroCouple model PC301MT-0 infrared temperature sensor is positioned above the conveyor, and is aimed so that both bands are contained in its field of view.
New Generation of LIN Transceiver Targets GM and Ford Platforms
LIN (Local Interconnect Network) nodes continue exponential growth rate at GM and Ford. To address this growing need for LIN transceivers Melexis introduces its next Generation LIN transceiver IC for LIN Bus systems according to the SAE J2602 standard. The MLX80020BB extends Melexis’ existing product line of LIN transceivers and System Basis Chips as well as fully integrated LIN solutions.
Melexis achieves MOST compliance twice over for Fiber optic Transceivers in SMD package
Melexis recently received the declaration of compliance for both its MLX75608 and MLX75605 Fiber optic transceivers. These fiber optic transceivers (FOTs) are suitable for 25Mbit/s (LVTTL) and 150Mbit/s (LVDS) communication respectively. The double compliance confirms the role of Melexis as innovative driver towards Surface Mount Device (SMD) solutions that will offer increased performance at lower cost.
MMA690xQ: Xtrinsic High Accuracy, Low-g Inertial Sensor
The MMA6900Q and MMA6901Q are dual axis, low g, xy sensors based on Freescale’s HARMEMS technology with an embedded DSP ASIC allowing for additional processing of digital or analog signals. The MMA6900Q has a ±3.5g full-scale range per axis and the MMA6901Q has ±5g full-scale range per axis.
Freescale Introduces Industry's Most Powerful Microcontroller for Automotive Powertrain Systems
Automakers continue to raise the bar with their new vehicle designs, delivering improved fuel economy and lower emissions to address consumer expectations and government regulations. High-performance microcontrollers (MCUs) play a key role in green automotive design, and Freescale Semiconductor today announced the first of several powerful multicore automotive MCUs that help make it easier for automotive designers to improve engine efficiency and...
