Z-Communications has announced two fixed frequency synthesisers, the SFS10625E-LF and SFS11800C-LF. The SFS10625E-LF is a single frequency PLL solution that is pre-programmed to operate at 10.625GHz and the X-band SFS11800C-LF is a single frequency synthesiser that operates at 11.8GHz.
Power shunt resistors precisely sense high currents

The PATT precision automotive thin film chip resistor, from Vishay Intertechnology, is now available in the 0805 case size. Featuring high-temperature operation to +155°C with 100% power dissipation, derated linearly to 0 mW at +250°C, the company claims the device provides a nearly 85°C extension in operating temperature range over conventional chip resistors.
Communications processor simplifies NFV and SDN
Expanding the company's XLPII multi-core communications processor family, Broadcom has announced the XLP500 series with 32 NXCPUs and performance up to 80Gb/s. According to the manufacturer, the communications processor delivers up to four times the per-core performance of competing processors.

It achieves a holdover specification of 1.5ms over a 24 hour period when locked to a 1PPS (Pulse Per Second) input from an external GPS receiver, easily meeting industry standard holdover requirements.
