The launch of what is being named as the industry's first six stream 802.11ac MIMO platform for home networks has been announced by Broadcom. The 5G WiFi XStream is up to 50% faster than MU-MIMO routers and gateways, Broadcom claims.
5W shunt resistors for automotive current detection
Suited for current detection in applications with increased power requirements, such as automotive systems and industrial equipment, ROHM has announced the development of high power ultra-low-ohmic shunt resistors. The PSR series includes the PSR400, which is rated at 4W, and the PSR500, which is rated up to 5W.
ASIG smart Bias-Ts are suited for LTE applications
Completing the company's Bias-T product portfolio, HUBER+SUHNER has introduced smart ASIG devices designed for installation near to the base receiving station or near to the antenna. Covering the full LTE bandwidth of 690-2700MHz, these Bias-Ts feed/inject or decouple both DC and ASIG control signals into or from a feeder cable.
Performance results announced for AEC Q200 capacitors
Performance results for KEMET's polymer tantalum capacitors have been released. The capacitors have been developed according to the Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) Q200 Reliability Document, with the results announced at the 2014 CARTS International Conference in Santa Clara, CA.

The MCP8063, an automotive AEC-Q100-qualified motor driver, has been launched by Microchip. Offered in 4x4mm DFN package, the company claims that the device is the world’s first to combine all of those features with 1.5A peak phase current for the 180° sinusoidal drive of a variety of three-phase brushless DC motor and fan applications.
Compact 4G LTE module certified by Verizon Wireless
Verizon Wireless has certified the ultra-compact TOBY-L100 4G LTE module from u-blox, enabling customers to leverage the Verizion Wireless network to develop IoT and M2M applications. The certification allows customers to design u-blox’s TOBY-L100 LTE modules into devices operating on Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network.
Fixed frequency synthesisers operate at 10.625 and 11.8GHz
Z-Communications has announced two fixed frequency synthesisers, the SFS10625E-LF and SFS11800C-LF. The SFS10625E-LF is a single frequency PLL solution that is pre-programmed to operate at 10.625GHz and the X-band SFS11800C-LF is a single frequency synthesiser that operates at 11.8GHz.
