Wind River has introduced a reference design for a virtual Business Customer Premises Equipment (vBCPE), following extensive collaboration with four NFV (Network Functions Virtualisation) software partners. Partnering with Brocade, Check Point, InfoVista and Riverbed, Wind River has demonstrated a complete, multifunction vBCPE running on the Wind River Titanium Server NFV Infrastructure (NFVI) platform.

Wind River has significantly expanded its product portfolio with the introduction of a comprehensive cloud suite, Wind River Helix Cloud, and free cloud-connected multi-architecture operating systems, Wind River Rocket and Wind River Pulsar Linux. With these products, Wind River not only grows its presence in the cloud, but further extends its well-established OS footprint at the edge beyond devices and gateways, to MCUs.

Wind River has introduced the latest version of Wind River Linux. Wind River Linux 8 brings together the flexibility and interoperability of open source along with improved user experience and scalability for addressing the opportunities and challenges of IoT. The company has also introduced added features for Wind River Open Virtualisation.
