Crystals support frequency tolerances required for wearables
Two families of miniature 1612 size crystal units, designated the XRCFD and XRCMD series, has been launched by Murata. Boasting an overall*1 frequency precision of +/- 20 ppm, both device series support the frequency tolerances required for wireless communications such as LTE/3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy, ZigBee and NFC.
Offerred with nominal operating frequencies from 24.000 to 31.999 MHz across -30 to +85°C , the XRCFD-F series measure a compact 1.6 x 1.2 x 0.35 mm. The XRCMD-F series has an operating frequency in the range 32.000 to 48.000 MHz and measures 1.6 x 1.2 x 0.33 mm.
The company's fusion sealing technology is deployed in both series, delivering a complete hermetic seal while using an alloy in the metal cap structure. The proprietary packing technology enables superior quality, cost performance, minaturisation and is suitable for mass production. These features contributes to a high-density mounting and the slimming of the unit.
Both device series can also bu used for wired data communications applications such as Ethernet, USB3 in addition to hard disk and SSD computing systems.
