Fox's New Compact, Extended Temperature Oscillators Provide Jitter under 1 pS RMS for Extreme Industrial Applications
Fox Electronics has expanded its line of XpressO configurable crystal oscillators with an extended temperature version of its 3.3 V HCMOS oscillator in a compact 3.2 mm x 2.5 mm package. Part of the FXO-HC33 series, the new oscillator can withstand temperatures from -40°C to +85°C, while delivering tight stabilities down to ±50 ppm.
WithThe frequency range for the new extended temperature XpressO oscillators is 0.75 MHz to 250 MHz with extremely low phase jitter down to 0.8 pS RMS, depending on the frequency. The FXO-HC33 oscillators offer a 3.2 mm x 2.5 mm x 1.0 mm with an industry standard footprint and pin-out. The RoHS and REACH compliant components use a gold over nickel termination finish.
All XpressO oscillators incorporate a unique serial ID for each individual part that enables Fox to track product manufacturing from raw materials through final testing for increased quality control.
XpressO oscillators use a proprietary ASIC family, developed by Fox, with a 3rd order Delta Sigma Modulator (DSM) to significantly reduce noise to levels comparable with traditional bulk quartz and SAW oscillators. The ASIC family enables the selection of output type, input voltages and temperature performance within the oscillator. Delivered in less than two weeks at an exceptionally low cost, XpressO oscillators offer low noise, a wide frequency range and excellent ambient performance.
